She's back

Rikki was sitting at the diner with Cleo as Bella sang up on stage, she looked over at the boy blending their juices and was instantly brought back to when Emma would work there. She laughed to herself as she remembered how controlling Emma was, especially when Rikki was working there. She snapped out of her daze when Cleo asked what was so funny, Rikki just shook her head and said nothing.

She sat in silence most of the night after that, she missed Emma but she knew she wasn't coming back. Rikki often imagined what it would be like if she did come back, she wondered what she would think of Bella. Most importantly Rikki just wanted Emma to be happy no matter where she was or who she was with. Rikki hoped that the water monster that had been attacking her, Cleo and Bella hadn't come for Emma as well. Sometimes she would think that the water attacks them because they split up? In a selfish way she wanted the water to bring Emma back, she loved Bella, just not the same as she loved Emma. Rikki also knew that Emma's absence hadn't hit Cleo as hard as it did to her, maybe because she had always been with Louis and Rikki spent most her time with Emma? Nonetheless she knew there was no point in dreaming, she wasn't coming back and they all knew it.

After the diner Rikki and Bella walked with Cleo home, they had passed Emma's old house, as they passed Rikki stared over, she remembered the time they pretended to be sick because of the rain and accidentally got a bunch of scientists involved, that made her smile. She remembered blocking the windows on the night of a full moon, the way when their hands brushed over the others there was a spark, the way they would look at each other when no one was watching. She would remember having sleepovers and sneaking in and out of Emma's window, which was sorta dangerous because she was on the second floor.

The next day while she was swimming she could have sworn she saw something behind a large rock, she shook her head and continued swimming. As she was swimming she thought about how her and Emma would never miss a chance to go out and swim together. She looked down at the locket they all shared, somewhere out there Emma was wearing hers, it kept them connected, in a spirit sort of way.

She made her way to the moon pool but when she got there she saw someone already in there, she figured it was Bella because she could see a blonde reflection in the water. She came out and looked over. It wasn't Bella, it was Emma. Rikki was stunned, speechless, her mouth was hung open as she looked at the girl she thought would never come back, the girl she thought about since the moment she left was back.

Emma looked at Rikki and gave her a huge smile, Rikki immediately leapt forward and gave her a long needed hug. Once they released Rikki had so many questions, why was she back? (not that she was complaining), is she staying? Emma laughed and said "I missed you too idiot",

Rikki smiled and shoved her playfully before asking why she hadn't told her she was coming back, Emma said that she wanted to surprise them, she also said that she was back for good. Then Emma continued by saying that she had come back alone, she needed a place to stay. Rikki told her she could stay with her, obviously, they had a lot of catching up to do.

The next morning they met up with Cleo and Bella at the Cafe, Emma didn't seem too fond of Bella but she tried not to show it. Emma picked up a menu and looked at Rikki and smirked, "Rikki's?"

Rikki rolled her eyes and took the menu out of Emma's hands, "shut up"

Emma laughed as Rikki told her that she was going to order her something she would like, Emma told her that she could only order for her, if she got to order for Rikki. Rikki looked at her and raised an eyebrow and then smirked, she's always up for a challenge.

Zayn came to give the girls their drinks, he and Rikki shared a weird glance, once he left Emma turned to her and asked what happened between them. "Like I said, a lot has changed since you left."Rikki said as she glared over at Zayn.

Cleo interrupted by telling everyone that there's a full moon tonight. Emma asked where they were going to stay, Bella said that they usually go to Cleo's house. Emma ignored her and Rikki noticed so she stood up and said "okay Cleo's house it is, better get going then"

She took Emma's hand and dragged her out the Cafe, Bella and Cleo quickly followed. It was winter so it got dark faster and they needed to border up the whole house in just a few hours.

Rikki and Emma went up to Cleo's room to set up the beds. Emma asked Rikki to pass her some water and when she did Emma's hands not only touched Rikki's, but she placed them right on top of hers. The room was quiet, while both girls kept glancing at the other and smiling.

Once the room was finished they stood up and made their way to the door. Both of them reached their hand out to open the door, when they touched the others hand instead. They turned and looked at each other, they laughed it off and Rikki opened the door for Emma, after Emma walked out she stopped in the doorway and turned around to meet Rikki face to face. She looked at Rikki, grabbed her face and kissed her. It took Rikki a second to register what was happening before she started kissing Emma back. The kiss was desperate but soft, it was as if the whole world had stopped around them and there was an explosion of bottled up love. Emma slowly backed into the wall outside Cleo's room being gently pushed against it by Rikki. The door made a loud thud and Cleo called out to see if everything was okay. That's when they pulled away and grinned at each while Rikki yelled a breathy "yes"

The two girls looked at each other and rested their foreheads together as they started to laugh to themselves. Emma's hands were gently cupped on Rikki's face, she whispered "I've wanted to do that since the day I first met you"

Rikki looked into her eyes and smiled, she told her that she never stopped thinking about her, that she told herself that if she ever saw her again she'd kiss her. Suddenly Bella came up to see what was taking them so long, both girls awkwardly separated and looked at Bella. "I uh was just coming to ask if you needed any help?"

Rikki and Emma looked at each other then back at Bella simultaneously saying "nope"

Bella awkwardly said "okay" and turned away going back down to Cleo,

Emma and Rikki waited for her to get down the stairs before looking at each other and laughing. Emma took Rikki's hand and hurried down the stairs with her.
