1 - Hap Mun Bay

A flaxen destination that can only be reached by sampan, Hap Mun (or " Half Moon") Bay is a beautiful crescent of a sand on Sharp Island, New Homes. Approach one of the sampan ladies (or kaito – small ferry drivers) on Sai Kung pier – a round trip should bring about$ 40-50 per person. Hap Mun is the lower of the two strands located on Sharp Island, while Kiu Tsui stretches along the western edge.

The Hong Kong Sea School is a boarding academy for depressed boys in Stanley which is located at the southernmost end of the sand along with the watersports centre, which is closed on Wednesdays.

This stunning beachfront is popular with locals taking an early morning dip, or for those who can go to hit a many rounds at The Hong Kong Golf Club.
