I clenched my fist as I felt the cold wind welcome me when I stepped off the school bus. The wild wind rushed through my long dark hair making it dance in every direction. The sky darkened.
It had been a long, tiring day at school. I mentally sighed as I thought about all the new homework the teachers had assigned us. At least I've got a whole weekend ahead of me, I said to myself, trying to lift my spirits up.
Just then I felt a raindrop on my head, later on my shoulders and arm.
"Ugh, great."
Ignoring my aching legs I made my steps quicker. I didn't want to be soaking wet when I reached home. Turning right in to another street, I shivered as even colder wind rushed towards me, making the raindrops feel like needles stinging my face.
From the corner of my eye I realized someone was walking behind me. I soon remembered, it was the man who sat in front of me in the bus. Did he live here? I didn't remember seeing him around here before. How long had he been following me? I felt a weird sensation as adrenaline rushed through my body.
Something was wrong.
Ignoring the cold I started walking faster. I turned left in to a backstreet. Then right.
I started to run.
He was still following me, now running too.
Damn it.
I ran as fast as I could. What was he up to? I needed to go somewhere crowded. I looked around but there was no one else to be seen. Panic took over me.
I was lost.
"Someone help! HELP!" I shouted hopelessly.
I reached a dead end.
I slowed down and stopped. The only sound I could hear was my rapid heart beating in my chest. I turned around to see-
No one.
Where was he? Had he given up? Had I been imagining all this?
I froze.
It was nearly pitch black in this narrow backstreet but a tiny movement had caught my eye. Could it- My thoughts were interrupted as the man sprinted towards me and covered my mouth with a weird smelling cloth. I tried to break free but he was too strong.
"Good girl..."
My nose filled with a smell that was like nothing I smelt before. It made me feel so relaxed despite how scared I was. I realized how tired I was. My eyelids got heavier... and heavier...
Darkness.
