Chapter 5

I was devasted when I saw Chloe's body grow limp after holding her, no, our children for the first and last time. I lost her. Again. Vincent this is all his fault! Vincent! I glared with anger overflowing from my eyes.

"This is all your fault!" I screamed at vincent. "How could you let this happen to her!" I started to change with every breath I drew. The anger grew stronger and stronger within me, and she wasn't here to keep me from losing my temper. She always knew the right words to say she was my stone, anchor, to earth from the beast within me. "Are you happy now! SHE DEAD! You son of a bitch! You KILLED HER!"

Rick come to my side and said "leave."

"Yes, vincent leave!" I replied.

"No Dyson. You need to leave. You do not want to be responsible for a baby's death."

I look down at my arms I was holding the little Okami in my arms. Her twin sister was laying dead in Chloe's arms. I give rick the baby and ran out into the forest. Meanwhile at the house vincent couldn't help about show his joy in his eyes for the little bundles of joy he had created with her. A vampire feeling for the sake of life! He's hiding something but I have to find out what is he hiding. I came across an area where I could see the moon clearly in the sky. I just cried, I saved her from them, I saved her! Just to lose her again! I can't live without her. I screamed at the moon.

"But you have to." a faint whisper lifted my spirits for only a second.

"Chloe... I can't do this without you! You are the better half, not me. You're the mother-like type the parent. I'm... I'm.... Useless without you!"

"Dyson. You need to do this for them. For me."

"No don't say that! I'm not ready to be a dad."

"Dyson, I know it's scary but our kids need you. Now more than ever."

"I know Chloe. I know... But I... I.. can't .... not, without you here." I cried even harder. About an hour passed and I decided to head back to the castle. No one burdened me with questions. I look at the babies. They were in cribs. The two Yamato and Hikari holding each other and poor Okami cuddle with a huge wolf plushie we had bought her. All of them sleeping without a care in the world.

"Welcome back, Dyson," Willow said. I didn't notice it but Jen had arrived there too. "So meet Yamato and Hikari they have been inseparable since they were born and of course, You know Okami."

I looked at the babies for the first time. I could tell who the father was just from their hair, Yamato had white hair clearly vampiric and Hikari had black hair like vincents. But little Okami had wild brown hair like myself.

"So as you can probably tell, these two vampiric and Okami isn't. We thought it is best to keep separate from each other with how they attacked Okami's sister." Willow said without a thought "Vincent is going to take the stillborn and Chloe to a special place to rest. It's where sage has been buried as well." We both wince at the memory of her. "More importantly it's what Chloe would have wanted." She choked on her name. " now that your back can you excuse me."

She left the room.

They had already taken Chloe's body and the stillborn out of the room. Rick was in the process of removing all the blankets and bed mattresses from her bed. He was probably going to burn them in sage and rosemary. To keep any evil omens from entering the castle. It was an old tradition we had. Jen was ready to perform the purification ritual to cleanse the room. Willow must have told her what to do. It didn't take them long to cleanse the room.
