chapter  6

I was so shocked. Not because I didn't feel the same, because I always felt a connection with her, and the longer I was with her the stronger it got. I just was so sure she wouldn't feel the connection like I did. I stood there blind sighted by what was said.

"I know this is crazy, but I know I said that I wouldn't be worth the risk, but I am willing to take that risk if you are willing to take a risk on me?" Dea said grabbing my hands. "I know that it will be difficult and that my job can be difficult but we can make it work." She continued " And well to be honest, between the job and your kids probably the last person you want to be with now."

Mid-sentence I kissed her on the lips, I pulled in so tightly it took the breath from both of us. As soon as our lips locked there was an overwhelming feeling of happiness and this was the person I was meant to be with her. Then my whole world changed in a split second. Everything melted away, and we went to the bedroom, kissing passionately.

The girls were in their room playing with their toys. We had the time to lose ourselves in the moment. She was like no other girl I had been with for the 500 years I've been alive. I've had a few mates but never the one I thought was the mate for me. Not one where everything around was just real and perfect. Not one that the very air she breathe I wanted to keep hidden away by chance someone might try and take her from me. Chloe wasn't ever truly mine but Dea has been here and constantly been here through everything I needed her for. We knew what to do and how we fitted together like a silk glove on smoothing hands. We finally finish hot and sweaty from the experience. As we dressed I kissed her on the forehead.

"Do you really think handing the girls over to Vincent is a good choice?" She asked me.

"Yes, they need to be with their own kind," I answered sincerely.

"Okay, I'll take them home." She said with sorrow rippling in her tone.

"Well, when do you want to break the news?"

"They already know."

I looked at the doorway, Okami was standing there crying.

"Shit, Okami it's just going to be for a couple of days."

"But dad, we only love you." Hikari and Yamato answer in unison.

"Daddy I don't understand," Okami said.

"Sweetie I know but they need to meet the rest of their family," I answered straining for the words.

"No, I don't want them to leave! You are with us right!" Okami screamed.

"Yes Of course. Okami there is no reason for screaming." I said sternly.

"Yes, there is you plan on getting rid of us!" Okami screamed again.

She, of course, didn't understand, for intends and purposes they thought this was the normal way of living. I tried my best to prevent them from thinking to kill and hurting others was okay. I know you all are probably judging me and my methods but you can only do so much to prevent what is ingrained into their DNA.

"Okami, young missy you need to stop yelling. We are going to your second father's whether you approve of it or not." I said in a firm voice, which I hope I never have to say something like that again to her. Okami stormed off, to her room and started packing angrily.

An hour passed and they were ready to leave with the ritual which they have gotten used to doing. They didn't know what to aspect going back in the future. It might have changed because whole family lines were whipped out from that one act Hikari did.

We return to the castle in the present time, With Victor still waiting at the door.

" I said we aren't going to take the little brats," Victor said with hatred threatening his tone and composure.

"No, you said that a few years ago, The girls are 8 now, and we'll be asking Vincent himself."

"Who the hell is Vincent," Victor demanded.

"What? Your son?!" I said unamused by this question.

"Dea who the hell is he talking about," Victor asked forcefully towards dea.

"I guess Hikari did mess the timeline. Then who is their father?" Dea said confused and concerned.

"It's you isn't it that's why you don't want them coming back to your family!" I grew incredibly furious.

"Vampires can't have children!" Victor said only this time was different he sounded defeated and tired. " I just want my family back."

"What??" I said puzzled.

"Fine you want them out of your hair so bad I'll take you to their father really is."

We went back to Toronto where it all began. We walked down the driveway to the door and that's when I saw her. She was with willow and rick. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There was no way that she was still alive. My heart sank, then I realized what I was walking over to, She cut willow's throat. Rick was begging her not to do it as the blood splattered across his face.

"CHLOE NOOOO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. What was she doing, that can't be her... She wasn't a murderer.

I ran over leaving the kids with dea the lady they considered their mom. I couldn't think of that right now I had to save rick. Who was this woman that stood in front of rick because it wasn't the woman I fell in love with? I stood in front of her, it was like her soul had been taken out of her and replaced by a machine.

"Chloe why?" I asked.

She just smiled at me darkly.

"Don't even bother Dyson she isn't the girl we knew," Rick warned me.

I was trying to figure out what to do when I saw the girls place themselves in front of me. And that was the last time I saw my little girls.
