Third person

Doc, 10K, and Rose helped bury Wilburt. They were able to go far, so they buried him close to the river. Somewhat of a peaceful place for him.

"So that thing is still ready to go off?" Doc says, as he throws his bag down, "Well, I'd like to know what we're supposed to do about it."

"Can't run. We're still within the blast zone," Cassandra says.

"And with no car. We're really screwed," Rose says as she drinks more of her water. She was able to fill it by the river.

"We go in," Warren says, confidently.

"And do what?" Doc asked, "Grady was the only one who knew how to shut that thing off. I'm a doctor, dammit, not a nuclear physicist."

Casssandra walks over to Amelia, who was sitting alone on a large rock.

"He was so close," Amelia says, choking back tears.

"Your dad gave it a good try. Sometimes that's the best we can do." Cassandra tried to comfort her.

Warren and Doc joined them on the rock. While Murphy, 10K, and Rose stayed in the back. Wanting to give them space, but still could hear what they were saying.

"He wasn't afraid of dying. He really didn't want to become a Z." Amelia says.

"Amelia," Warren gets her attention, "We need to know if you can shut it off by yourself if we protect you?"

"I know airplanes," She looks around at everyone, "Not nukes."

"Awesome," Murphy complains to himself.

Rose gives him a look before slapping his arm. Murphy acting like it really hurt him.

10K puts his hand on her back, rubbing circles like he always did.

"There is one guy," Amelia says, catching everyone's attention.

"Here?" Doc asks, "Here in Edgemont?"

Amelia answers, "Yeah, Homer Stubbins. He was the chief engineer at the plant for 20 years. He's been holed up in the woods since the apocalypse. He's armed and dangerous. He became a recluse after the death of his son."

"How do we find Homer?" Warren asks.

"He won't talk to you."

"We have to try," Warren says.

Knowing they were gonna come back to the plant, they left their bags by the river, Hiding them under a bush. 10K puts more branches on top of their stuff. Making sure that no one could see it.

They each keep their weapons. They weren't stupid enought to leave those behind.

They followed Amelia into the woods. It took an hour until they started to approach the house. It was supported with barbed wire with a dead boy already stuck to it.

Amelia stops away from the house, "We have to stop here."

"We're still 50 yards away," Murphy says.

"My dad said the place was booby-trapped. I told you Homers crazy." Amelia says.

10K moves in front of everyone, crouching down to get a better look at the area. Rose stayed close behind him.

"Have we completely dismissed the idea of a phone call?" Cassandra jokes.

"Or a letter. I'm sure he'll get it in 3 to 5 business days." Rose jokes along with her.
