I stood at the window and saw the journalists.
''Huh, they arrived before the coffins did, pay up Morrigan.'' I tell her.
She thought that the coffins would arrive before the journalists, but I had thought that the journalists would arrive before, I was right.
''What's the point, we're gonna die soon.'' She said, she had given up and accepted her fate, but not me.
See the thing about me is I have powers, I have never told anyone this, not even Morrigan. It was about midday and we saw Corvus walking down to the gate to speak with them.
The adults had decided that Corvus was going to read a letter on the behalf of the family, that was bullshit. They wanted to make him seem like a grieving dad, bleh.
The letter went like 'We wish to thank you, the citizens of our great Republic, for your support over the last eleven years. This has been a trying time for our family, and the distress will no doubt linger for some time yet. The loss of a child is difficult to bear, but we will suffer the loss of two. Not only for our family, but for the townspeople of Jackalfax, who we know will share in our grief. But this morning, as we welcome the Ninth Age of the Wintersea Republic, know that the worst is behind us. The Eighth Age took from me my beloved first wife, and now it has taken both of my children. However, it has also taken with it the danger, doubt, and despair that plagued both of their dear short lives. My dears, Morrigan and Charlotte, are finally at peace, and so must we all be. The town of Jackalfax —indeed, the entire state of Great Wolfacre—is safe again. There is nothing to fear. Thank you I will not be taking questions.'
That letter was so put on, he was glad that we both are dying because he will be able to put on a mask of the grieving dad and be able to get Chancellor and keep it. We both were a nussicance and he's glad to get rid of us both.
Morrigan and I looked out the window, we could both tell that he was reading the letter. He grimaced! How dare he. I must put a curse on him before I die. That will do it. That shall be my parting gift to the whole family.
The reporters seemed shocked once Corvus had left and they all looked up and saw the birds that had been circling them all morning. Must of been annoying. I hope one of them would of shat on one of their heads, that would be funny. At least somebody actually cares that we are dying.
