After a 40 minute drive we pulled up to an ordinary looking house and my nerves were skyrocketing.
"You okay?, Nique asked me probably hearing my ridiculous fast breathing.
Before I could respond a German Shepard came running to our car. I looked at the dog crazy. "Its a nice dog but does it bite?", I faked a smile looking at it.
"It doesn't", he assured me almost wanting to laugh. We got out the car with my attention still on the dog but when I raised my eyes I saw a lady who wore a pair of blue jeans ,a black shirt, some sandals and long braids walk up to where we were parked.
"Ey Parker you scaring the pretty lady, to the back. Now!", she shouted at the dog and it immediately ran off.
"Heyyyyyyy", she wrapped her arms around Nique with a big smile on her beautiful face. They greeted each other within the hug, you could almost feel the love that exuded from the both of them.
After their greetings were done, she turned to me. Turning her head to her younger brother "she's so beautiful", she cheesed at me. "Thank you, so are you", I thanked her. She immediately wrapped her arms around me too and my nerves calmed down.
"I'm Rita and you must be Zara", she looked at me with a smile. "Yeah thats me, its so good to meet you", I spoke shyly.
"I'm hoping you guys are hungry, let's go inside", and she led the way.
Nique closed the door behind us after we all entered the cosy house. The delicate smell of good food hit my nose making me feel hungrier.
Rita welcomed us into the sitting area and disappeared to somewhere.
"Told you she was cool", he told me with a small smile. "I see that already", I said removing the little lint from his sweater.
"Here you go", Rita put the plate of food on the table in front of me and did the same for Nique and came back with with a jar of what seemed like some orange juice and three glasses.
She placed the jar gently in the middle of the table, "Well I wanted us to have fun with a few drinks but my brother over here wasn't for it ugh", she playfully rolled her eyes at him and I quietly laughed.
"Shall we pray?", we bowed our heads and she said a small prayer before we could indulge in our meal.
"Amen", we all said in unison and dug in. I must say... it was damn good!
"Mommy!", a little boy and girl who looked exactly alike came running to where we were.
Before they could talk their eyes landed on Nique. "UNCLE DOM!!! UNCLE DOM!!!",they immediately threw themselves at him.
"My babies!" He placed kisses all over their faces while giving them a big bear hug. Out of nowhere i felt a pinch of hurt, knowing what happened...
"We wanna play with the puzzles but we can't reach them!", the little girl held a small pout looking up at her uncle.
"Where are your puzzles at?", he asked them.
"Let me show you", the little boy took ahold of his hand. "No Jordan I wanna hold his hand!", I couldn't help but laugh at how adorable they were.
I looked at Rita and she shook her head while looking at me and mouthed "sorry". The three left disappearing somewhere in the house.
"Ah kids. Those are my twins Jordan and Jackie",
"Oww They're so cute", I cooed.
"Thank you", she smiled.
And immediately Nique was back. "I thought you said they with their dad this weekend", he talked to his sister.
"He canceled, something came up apparently",
"Oh cool. They seem to grow everyday, damn...", he smiled small.
"They're a handful, I'm still waiting for my lil niece or nephew from you. Zara you guys better make it quick", and I felt the little feeling I felt earlier on but I quickly nod my head and faked a smile.
After that a conversation about something else arose and thank God.

We were leaving soon and it was about to get dark outside.
"I'm really happy to meet you", "me too", and Rita and I hugged each other.
"JJ come say bye to Auntie Zara!", she called and the twins came running.
They shyly stood next to their mother. "Bye bye Aunty Zara", The little girl spoke but the little boy, Jordan just waved at me with a small smile. After that they gave Nique big hugs and he gave them kisses all over their faces like last time.
he could really be a good dad...

Half way through our way back I was lightly dozing off to sleep in the car due to how full I was.
"Zara", his voice was calm yet stern.
"Huh", I looked at him while I felt the light sleep drift away.
"You good baby?",
"Yeah. Your sister is so nice to be around", I smiled.
"Yeah she's cool, no lie". There was a little silence that lingered.
"You don't have to feel bad anymore...", he said out of nowhere.
I kept silent.
"I saw how you were when I was interacting with the twins. Stop holding yourself prison for what happened. Its in the past now. All that matters now is we focus here and be happy here. Okay?", he glanced at me and quickly put his eyes back on the road.
One thing about him is he knew me. He noticed things about me I thought nobody took to mind. Everytime.
"Yeah...", my eyes were a little teary now.
He took my hand into his and softly kissed it.
"I love you... so much mi reina"
I sniffled a bit, "I love you too Nique".
Moments later he pulled up to the visitors parking spot at my apartment complex.
"Thank you for today, I really appreciate every bit of it",
"I got you", he kissed my forehead. "Well make sure you get enough sleep, okay?",
"Yes father", I playfully rolled my eyes at him. "Come on, you can leave early in the morning", I whined because he had a really early morning tomorrow concerning work, so he was going back to his apartment tonight and me being sad was an understatement.
"You know I can't", he mimicked me by pouting as well.
"Fine", I huffed.
"I gotta have an early night so I gotta go. But I promise after tomorrow I'm all yours.", I felt like I was not gonna see him in forever and I didn't wanna get out the car but I knew I had to.
We shared a long kiss then I was out of his car. I made it to my apartment feeling extremely sleepy.
I hopped into my pajamas and got into bed and completely blacked out unexpectedly.
In the middle of my sleep my phone rang and it was a FaceTime call.
"I just got home now, wait you sleeping already?", he asked I'm guessing because he saw the darkness in my room.
"Mm", was all I managed to say.
He chuckled a bit, "well lemme take a quick shower. Have a good night and I love you", he spoke through the call.
"I love you a lot. Please call me when you wake up okay? Goodnight love", I small smile crept to my sleepy face after talking.
Then our call ended. I was out like a light again.
