I had a lot of fun writing this <3The rain didn't seem like it would be stopping any time time soon, all you could hear from the outside of the cabin was the constant pitter-patter of the rain colliding with the flood water. Although some may find the sound relaxing, it really stressed a certain individual out, (Y/n). The rain was something that they used to enjoy, but in the current situation, it wasn't something so enjoyable anymore, listening to the the water each morning made them believe that it would never stop, the rain frightened them even more when their loving friend Mariah left the cabin to find food.
As much as the others protested.
(Y/n) knew Mariah wouldn't be coming back.
(Y/n) swore that sometimes they could hear Mariah's muffled cries and pleading outside in the rain. It made them feel terrible that they couldn't do anything to help their dear friend. In fact, Mariah's cries outside made them fear the rain even more, (Y/n) remember when Mariah exclaimed how cold the water was when she left the cabin, it wasn't something pretty to hear.
Today, they had some cutlets of meat to munch on, both Anatoly and (Y/n) didn't seem to enjoy it. Gregor didn't say a word after trying it, and went back to the living room, Karin, Karin seemed delighted with the taste, both Anatoly and (Y/n) didn't seem to understand Karin's enthusiasm towards the meet. Anatoly went to the bathroom to do whatever Anatoly does, probably think about the situation like most of them do. (Y/n) walked to the living room where Gregor was. As much as they hated it, they walked to the window to see if the water had decreased by at least a bit.
It looked the same, nothing had changed at all, this was going to be a long wait.
(Y/n) let out a long and nervous sigh, not excited to spend who knows how much of their life in a place they found claustrophobic with water sorrounding every single side of the cabin. Gregor seemed to notice this. "(Y/n), can you come sit next to me please". (Y/n) looked at him, walked towards the couch and sat next to him. "We all know this isn't a pretty thing to be a part of". (Y/n) nodded and responded to him "None of us wanted to end up here". "I've noticed that you've also seemed a bit queasy when you look out the window, do you not like the rain". "The rain is the main reason why we can't leave, Gregor. It scares me even more after Mariah left and hasn't come back". "I understand, but, I'm sure Mariah will be back, she wouldn't just leave us here without anything, she even said herself that she's a good swimmer!" Gregor said while sounding optimistic. (Y/n) looked down at their feet "She sounded quite skeptical while mentioning that, if anyone actually knew how to swim out of the five of us, that would be Anatoly". "I trust Mariah's words, she wouldn't lie" Gregor smiled.
"The rain is also a very pretty thing, you used to love it". (Y/n) looked back up at him "That was before, if we ever do get to leave this hell hole, you know well that I won't be going out when it starts to rain". Gregor sat there and looked up at the ceiling, to what it seemed that he was thinking. "I'll tell you what little one, when we leave, I'll help you get over your fear!". "That's..very nice of you Gregor, thank you". "Don't even mention it little one! Now, come here, you need a hug to forget about this at least for a little while" Gregor opened his arms, welcoming (Y/n) into a warm embrace. For once, they weren't thinking about the stress if the cabin, they felt comforted, not even Karin, Anatoly, nor Mariah could have made them feel like this. Gregor made them feel like it was going to be okay.
It was so late at night that I didn't really feel like writing the part of Anatoly leaving the cabin, I am SO SORRY, but..
"Anatoly has left the cabin!"(okay there)
(Y/n) had woken up with back pain the next morning, they didn't have a good night's rest after Anatoly had left, seeing his face made them feel guilty, they didn't say anything to him when he left, they stayed silent, Anatoly didn't say anything either, it was just Karin being a snob and telling Anatoly to bring back something good, and Gregor sobbing and reassuring Anatoly that he would make it back safely. Once again, (Y/n) wasn't so sure about it. Mariah wasn't even back yet. They didn't have hope that Anatoly would return, and they were right, he wouldn't.
Gregor was devastated, not even later that day, the cabins owner said they would treat everyone to more meat cutlets. Neither (Y/n) or Gregor wanted to eat the meat, but there was no other choice, Karin gladly consumed every single last bit of her meal. "Do we have ANY more?" She asked in her serious tone. "I would rather we save for later". Karin seemed to understand, but she seemed desperate. After their meal, both Gregor and (Y/n) sat in the living room and talked about how Anatoly and Mariah could be doing. Even though (Y/n) was more than sure that they wouldn't come back, Gregor gave them a glimmer of hope that they would. Everyone in the cabin wanted this to be over, although some wouldn't admit it.
Now with Anatoly gone, no one would be using his bed. It was free, Gregor offered if (Y/n) would like to sleep in his bed, but they kindly declined, Gregor decided to take up Anatoly's empty bed. Both Gregor and the cabins owner had gone to bed by then, the only two awake were Karin and (Y/n). Karin seemed, a bit more nice than the usual, trying to get on (Y/n)'s good side. "Today's meal was delicious, can we both agree?" Karin said with a grin on her face. "Heh..it wasn't that bad" they answered while turning their head away from her. "And I do wish there was more..but I just discovered that the last pieces have started to go bad". "Ah, what a bummer..can we change the topic?". "Actually (Y/n), I have a great idea to keep us all fed and away from starvation for some time" Karin said with a tone that she never used. "Really..oh boy..!" They responded with sarcasm. "And we can both execute this plan together! What to do you say?". They thought for a second, she was doing this for everyone in the cabin, but this was mostly for Gregor, it would make them feel even more miserable if something were to happen to him, they nodded "What can I do to help". "You can..go to bed, it doesn't seem like much I know, but that would really be helping" Karin said as she stood up from the couch and started walking over to the kitchen. "I'll have everything ready by the morning, rest well!~" She said in a teasing tone. (Y/n) laid their head at the arm rest of the couch, and slowly closed their eyes.
Their eyes opened, they were covered by a thin sheet, they felt lighter, they felt dizzy. Just as a few questions started making their way into their head, Karin walked in. "Oh good! You're awake, it's breakfast time sleepy head, me and the other two have already ate" Karin sat on the couch. "The plan went splendid, you really helped.." she gave a smile and grabbed a plate. "Now, open wide~" She was about to feed them the meat cutlet until they spoke up. "Karin, I can feed myself..". "Oh that's right! Silly me, I forgot to explain what exactly you would be doing to contribute to the plan..you don't have arms (Y/n), and you are as well missing one of your legs". It was hard to believe, it's not everyday that someone says that your limbs were amputated while you slept.
"Your right arm was enough to fill everyone up for breakfast, your other limbs are kept somewhere else for safe keeping" she patted their head. "I think having a blanket over you all day makes you feel hot, I'll take it off for now" She said as she took the sheet from them. That's when they saw the bandages that covered where their limbs used to be. It felt cold.
A certain someone heard the talking coming from the living room, Gregor made his way to where the conversation was going on. Just as he was met with Karin hovering of the injured (Y/n), they were to stunned to speak, they looked above them at Karin's face giving them that reassuring smile, even though it didn't help the fact that their limbs were missing. "We all enjoyed breakfast, I think I seasoned everything well, here, you tell me" Karin shoved the meat inside (Y/n)'s mouth, they felt disgusted, Karin placed the plate back down. "I have to wash some dishes, wait for me here".
When Karin left for the kitchen, Gregor stepped closer to them on the couch. "I'm sorry" was what he said. "You didn't do anything, it's my fault for being so trusting of her". "It's not your fault, you also did nothing, you will be okay, I will be here". Gregor gently patted their head attempting to comfort them. "I won't be able to leave, be careful when you're near Karin" they told Gregor. He nodded "Rest, that's all that you can do right now, and let's both hope that you get better".
I think I kinda went off the rails but I still hope this was enjoyable enough 😭.
