(Y/n)'s pov-

Cabin fever has really started to sink in, I was more irritable than usual and the feeling of tiredness washed over me even though I've had what should be considered a 'good-nights rest'. While sitting on the couch of the living room, after the dinner that just contained a few bread crumbs, I felt distressed.

'for sure this is not how the end will come for all of us'

'we'll be fine, it's not like we're gonna die!'

'right.'

Right in the middle of my moment of thought I felt the couch sink a little right beside me, I looked over. And it was Mariah.

She had this look of very severe concern, a little smile plastered on her face masking how she actually felt. "How's everything been going?" She asked in a voice with question. I looked right in front of me looking through one of the windows, rain was what was on the other side "It's been cool I guess, totally".

Mariah let out a breathy chuckle "I sure hope you're joking. In my opinion this isn't so cool". She looked at me with that face, that same face spoke 'please be joking'. "Of course I am, none of us find this fun!" I said getting louder by the end of the sentence. Mariah was listening, not something others would be able to do without getting tired of my rambling.

She smiled "Oh boy, I sure am glad!" She spoke. I returned the smile while I rubbed the bridge of my nose, the constant sound of the rain hitting the outside floor wasn't there to relax me. This time, it gave me a mild headache instead. Mariah seemed to notice "I agree! The rain has become annoying to hear every-day at this point". I nodded "Enough to make my head explode".

"Is your headache bothering you that bad". "It's the only thing I can think of right now, this headache". Mariah seemed to enter a moment of thought for a small second, then she came to an idea. "Listen to this, lay on my lap!" Mariah patted her lap "Lay your head down, I don't mind!". She kept continuously patting her lap before I obliged and laid my head down, it has comfortable. "So do I just lay he-" Mariah cut me off by rubbing my temples in a soothing manner.

"Shh. Relax, no need to speak, you can fall asleep if you'd like". I nodded 'okay' while she continued. The action really soothed me, causing me to get tired. My eyes started fluttering shut while my mind rested, my eyes closed and I was soon in a deep and comforting slumber.
