Two hundred thirty-four days, 16 hours, and 52 minutes until Julia Weppersmith could graduate. Two hundred thirty-four days 16 hours and 51 minutes until she could leave this town behind. Two hundred thirty-four days 16 hours and 50 minutes until she could be rid of her parents.
As I sat in the car looking off into the distance I couldn't help but feel sorry for myself. I know most of the other kids have perfect home lives, and if they don't they sure are good at hiding it. How could someone mess up so many times that they're 4 wives in? I mean I'm not one to talk about love or romance but 4 seems like quite a big number. I didn't know what I expected either, I mean a guy who hits his kid and his wife? Most people would flee the second they could. That's why I don't have a problem skipping school right now. The first time in years. I don't know what I expected to come out of sitting in my car for 3 whole periods but it sure felt better than sitting inside of the school and just listening to the teachers ramble on and on about random things that ill never need again. If my dads going to hit me even though I have all A's and never skip a day of school, then she sure isn't going to change if I skip school. I plan on leaving the second I can, changing my name and making myself disappear completely. His new wife at the moment is named Joy. Despite her name, she is one of the cruelest people I've ever met. She's almost as bad as him, and while she doesn't hit me she encourages him too. Once I heard the lunch bell ring I knew it was my cue to go back inside. I checked my phone to see if anyone had texted me and as no surprise, no one did. No one wants to hang out with the weird nerd who eats outside while watching some stupid TV show on her phone.
