Ok, so let's go back. All the way back. Lets look before I found Timber Falls. Before I met Sarah. Before I even knew about a young kid named Oliver Mendoza.
Hi! My name is Mars, and I don't really know what I'm doing here. One second, I'm sitting at home, pencil in hand, drafting my newest idea for a sword I plan to forge on Sunday, the next second, I wake up here. Surrounded by lush trees, in a forest I've never seen.
From what seems to be nowhere, a small woman in a tidy suit appears. I can't see very well due to the pure grogginess of my now pounding head, but it looks like she's wearing a green tie. She has a crooked smile that almost seems painted on. A larger man in a deep coat walks out behind her. He has a similar smile, and yet somehow different in a way.
The woman begins to snicker as I sit there helpless. My body aches, my head is throbbing, and I have deep cuts and scars on my arms and legs. I also appear to have a few burn marks as well, which is unusual, due to how careful I am around heat since the incident. She slowly inches closer to me as I lay there helpless. As she leans in to my face, I see nothing but deep, milky eyes that seem to stretch infinitely inwards. Like a whitewashed void drifting through what may have been called eyes to who she was before. My vision goes blurry again as I lose the battle with consciousness. She chuckles once again as I pass out, still leaned against the very same tree I found myself at just minutes before.
I awake to a shake from an unknown girl. She can't be any older than I am, and she seems small, even though I'm the one on the ground. I still can't see too well, but her eyes stand out to me. Piercing my vison, her emerald irises glow like the light of the angels above.
"Hey, this is no time to be asleep," she says in a voice that soothes my pain the slightest bit. "We don't know how long it will take for Entropy and the rest of her goddamned demon cult to reach us here." She grabs my hand with a heavily bandaged but firm grasp, and hoists me up with a grunt and a pop somewhere in her spine. "Follow me," she continues. "I know somewhere we can get you all patched up."
I can't even hear her anymore. I drift into what I may think to be some dream of a morbid angel, where I stand next to her as she shoots a young boy with a camera in his hands. She jolts me back to reality with one swift flick of her body. I can hear her faintly again, and I follow as she leads me down a path I didn't quite see before. My body aches one final time, before it all goes numb and I slip from this plain of mortality.
This waking up thing is really starting to make my headache worse, and yet here we are, once again. My eyes flutter open, hoping to see that girl once again, but instead I wake to an older looking lad, wrapping my leg in gauze tape. I pick up my tired arms to look at the scars there, yet I see none over the bandages.
"Oh, you're finally awake? Good. Patch yourself up fuck wad," he grimaces.
"Ryan!" A familiar voice says. "Is that any way to treat him? We don't even know why he was there, let alone why he was hurt. Let him rest and heal till we can talk." She flutters out the door.
The boy(whom I assume to be Ryan) continues reconstructing me like a patchwork, all while humming a song that sounds like a metal band, but more of a pop punk. "There you go," he nearly shouts. "All fixed up. You have three hours to be ready to talk. I'll be back." He begins to walk away. "oh," he stops and turns. "I left some herbal tea packets on the desk. I hate them, so you can have them." And then, he leaves.
