He gasped and almost dropped his lyre, but managed to catch it. What was someone doing up here? He turned back and saw a small boy weilding his polearm.

How did he know his name? He's never seen this boy in his life. But...As he stared at the peculiar figure, he noticed something. He matched the exact description of the same Xiao that Morax saved. It matched the exact description from the book, the exact drawing, although vague, he could make out the same blue hair.
"How do you know my name?" Venti asked.

"Rex Lapis has told me a lot about you."
"You mean Morax?"
"Liyue folk never dare to call him that."

A boy of few words, straight to the point, weapon is a polearm. This has to be Xiao. Venti got up from the tree and slowly approached the boy.

He sat next to the small figure and watched the sun go down with him.

"What are you doing up here?" Venti queried. The yaksha sighed and stuck his polearm into the ground, making a crack into the concrete. The windborne bard got very startled at this.

"Rex Lapis told me to tell you to meet him at Wangshu Inn."
"But how did you know it was me?"

Xiao's eyes reflected the sun dropping behind the horizon, and as the darkness crept up, he remembered his past. Being a naive boy, being so bright, until he was captured by that devil. The slaying of innocent people, the blood that will forever be stuck on his hands, relentless killing, cutting himself with his own polearm to relieve even the slightest bit of the pain, the karmic debt that was feasting on his soul for years. It all brought tears to his eyes, remembering the pain of not being able to eat and only feasting on the dreams of people and snow.
Then, right before he was going to cry, he glanced over at Venti's lyre.

That melody. The sound that saved him. It was so familiar. Venti played the lyre with such passion, and the calm song reminded him of the song that saved him.
No...No way..Venti couldn't have been the one to save him. I mean, it was a big possibility, but is a stupid bard really his saviour?

"C'mon, lets get going to Wangshu."

He got up and so effortlessly pulled his polearm out of the concrete and looked at Venti with an unconscious soft smile on his face before quickly disappearing into the darkness.

Venti giggled and made his way over to Wangshu Inn.

Well,
Isn't this going to be interesting?
