The day went by reasonably fast. Customers that came into the café were polite and didn't give you any problems. Thank god. There was still ten minutes left of your shift and one more person had just walked into the café and approached you. He wore a white flannel shirt with blue jeans and had thick, brown hair, almost like Williams. The man had black eyes and was rather tall. He stopped at the counter and glared at you for a second before smiling.

"Afternoon, can I get a black coffee please. No sugar." He sounded the same as the man William was speaking to at the door earlier. You pause for a moment before turning your back to him to make his coffee.

"That'll be $1.25." You say as you grin and hand him the cup.

The man grunts in response then pays, takes the drink and leaves. If the man wasn't already moody, he's definitely going to be if he notices you accidentally put sugar in his coffee.

A deep sigh is released from your chest as John approaches you. The urge to just walk out of the café to avoid talking to him was strong. But you needed the job and didn't want to be impolite.

"Long day, huh?" John laughs and leans against the counter, blocking you from putting your apron on a hook behind him.

"Mhm." Hopefully he'll get the hint that you don't want to have a conversation with him.

"So, y/n. Are you and psycho.. y'know." He has an annoying smile on his face. As much as you wanted to slap him, it was important to keep calm.

"Me and who? And are we what?" You knew exactly who he was talking about and what he meant. You just wanted to act dumb. You hoped that you pretending to be confused would put him off of asking questions.

"Are you and William a thing?" Why does that matter to him? Should your manager really be asking you questions about your dating life? Johns question really made you think. Were you and William a thing?

"We're just friends. It's really none of your business, John. You should worry about your own life." Maybe now he'll stop talking you and leave you be. You pick up your phone and find William in your contact list to call him. The phone only rings two times before he picks up.

"William? My shifts finished." John stares at you as you talk to William over the phone.

"Alright, doll. I'll be there in a few." He says over the sound of his engine starting.

"See you then." You say before he puts the phone down. John was still eyeing you. What's wrong with him? You push past him to hang up your apron since he was still leaning on the counter, blocking you.

"Listen, I'm gonna need you to work a little later tomorrow. We're running low on staff." He stands up and straightens out his shirt.

"Why me? Can't you ask someone else instead of me? I'm going to be busy later on tomorrow." That was a lie. You just didn't have anything to do tomorrow after work. You just didn't want to be around John more than necessary. Maybe you can spend more time with William instead.

"Do you want this job or not, y/n?" His eyes narrow at you. You knew he couldn't fire you, even if he wanted to since he was already understaffed. Buy you just didn't want to argue with him.

"Fine. How much later do I need to work?" You cross your arms and glare at his smug face. John smiles at you when he gets his own way.

"I only need you here for an extra hour." You roll your eyes and glance out the window as Williams car pulls up in front of the café. William gets out of his car and enters the café.

"Are you ready to come home, darling?" He says whilst he slyly smirks at John.

"Yep, I'm ready." You go to William and he puts his arm over your shoulder, pulling you close and leaving the café with you.
