You were still trying to get used to sudden change in weather. you've always been the type of person to love being out in the sun. Everyday so far, it's been sunny. The neighbours are alright but they're too quiet. Nowhere near the same as it was back in the city. Although nothing seems to be wrong with the town, You'd still rather be in Chicago. You couldn't tell if you liked the peaceful atmosphere or hated it. It's worth it though. It has to be. New beginnings are supposed to be different.
Exhausted from the seemingly endless day, you begin to unpack the last box left in your room. You stand up to straighten out your posture then brush a loose strand of hair out of your face. All of the unpacking made you thirsty, so you leave the room to get something to drink. Whilst making your way downstairs into the kitchen, you gaze out the window at the dark, empty street in front of it. You've spent the entire day opening and emptying boxes. Staring out the window made you begin to miss being back in Chicago. The sound of moving traffic outside your previous apartment replayed in your head over and over again. Being in a house is a lot different. especially when the house is thrice the size of your apartment in the city. there's a lot more space. It's only been a week since you moved away, But it felt like forever ago. It was hard for you to think on the Brightside when you're almost completely miserable. Despite the not so happy thoughts repeating in your mind, there was still the slightest bit of hope that the small town isn't really as dull as it seems. You let out an excessive yawn and trudged upstairs to bed.
The bright rays of sun shines through your windows and into in your face, causing you to wake up. Satisfied with the reasonable amount of sleep you managed to get. This was the first time in weeks that you've managed to sleep all night. You get up and make your bed, get dressed and walk downstairs. A bag filled to the top, full of trash greets you at the front door. You pick up the black bag and unlock your door, stepping out of the house. The scent of flowers shoots through your nose the second you breathe in. The sounds of birds singing boosts your mood. A small smile creeps onto your face as you think to yourself as you listen to the birds sweet tune.
"Maybe this town isn't that bad.." Your thoughts fused with the sounds of tweeting. You were enjoying the soothing melody coming from the small creatures in the towering trees. So far, the day is going well.
'CRASH!'
"Shit!" You mutter.
The flimsy bag rips, causing cans and empty packets to scatter all over the front garden. A deep chuckle from nearby send shivers up and down your spine and making you look up to see where the laughter was coming from. A tall, slender man, was leaning over the fence which was separating your garden from his. He had dark brown, messy hair with a few grey strands, barely noticeable. You stared into the mans ghastly, silver eyes. They were unsettling yet you couldn't look away from them. Quickly, you snap out of your trance and continue to pick up the fallen trash.
"Are you alright love? I'm awfully sorry for laughing. Let me help you." The man says. His voice is deep and made you feel nervous but at the same time comfortable.
The man approaches you and gathers the remaining garbage off of the floor. He throws everything into the trash can then dusts himself off. A hand springs out in front of you, offering to help you up. You place your smaller hand into his and use it to support yourself whilst standing up. The gentleman slowly lifts your hand towards his face and gently kisses it.
"William. William Afton. and you are?" An warm smile slowly grows on his face.
This wasn't the ideal way to introduce yourself to someone. it is rather embarrassing but its better than nothing.
"Y/n" you look up into William's pearly eyes and smile at him.
William releases you hand from his grip. He briefly examines your smaller figure before he coughs to clear his throat. You continue to stare into his eyes.
"That's a lovely name, y/n. Are you new here? I haven't seen you around." his eyes narrow at you as you stare into them.
"Yeah actually, I moved here last week" You let out a nervous chuckle then look down at your feet.
"So, do you like it here?" William questions.
"It's alright I suppose so. It's quiet but I'd love to get to know more people though."
"It is rather quiet.. But quiet is better, right?" He grins.
"I guess so, its just different. That's all." You say whilst frowning.
William sighs, looks at the watch on his pale wrist then back up at you.
"I hate to cut this short.. As much as I'd love to stay and talk to you all day darling, duty calls." William says with a bored tone. The man then walks out of your garden and gets into a car that is almost the same silver-greyish colour as his eyes.
Before he drives off, he waves at you, to say bye. You wave back before turning away and walking into your house. Something about William makes you feel very uneasy but at the same time, makes you want to get to know him more. The living room in your new house is dim due to the lousy lightbulb but that doesn't bother you, yet. You turn on some music and sit on the couch. As time progressed you kept finding yourself thinking of the unsettling individual you had introduced yourself to earlier. Hoping you'll get to talk to him again. The hushed music played in the background, slowly sending you to sleep.
