Lucy's P.O.V.
I walked along the river in Magnolia, balancing on the the edge. The men in a boat calling at me not to fall in. I always called back and told them I wouldn't. I was on my way to the guild hall of Fairy Tail. It was already about noon.
I finally made it to the guild doors. I opened them only to be greeted by flying tables and glasses. Another fight. Go figure.
I sat on a stool in front of Mira as she watched the battle from afar. "They're at it again," she sighed. I laughed.
"That's Fairy Tail for ya," Cana slurred from beside me. Of course she's drunk this early. "We fight when we wanna and we wanna fight!" she said as she raised her glass. I sighed defeatedly at how true it was.
I leaned forward and asked Mira, "Could I get a drink?"
She looked confused. "Of course you can! What would you like?"
I thought for a moment. "Surprise me," I said. "Get me anything." Mira smiled sweetly before disappearing into he kitchen.
I was tapped on the shoulder and greeted by my best friend. "Good morning, Lu!"
"Hey, Levy!" She sat on the stool to my right. We chatted for about two minutes before Mira came back with a glass.
"Here you are, Lucy!" She set the glass down in front of me.
"What'd you get me?"
"It's a surprise," she whispered with a finger to her lips. I raised an eyebrow suspiciously. Taking the glass between my fingers, I took a small sip. It had a sickly-sweet kind of taste. Sweet mostly dominated.
I licked my lips. "What's in it?"
"Strawberry margarita mix, a shot and a half of vodka, and some tequila. I added a strawberry for some more flavor and since you like sweet instead of salty, I gave it a sugar rim." I looked amazed.
"You certainly know your stuff."
"I try not to brag."
I sipped on my margarita while Levy told me about another book she was reading. As the talk went on, I glanced at Natsu who was having an animated talk with Romeo. Levy nudged my arm. "Why're you staring?"
I blinked several times before turning back to her. "What?"
"Something's up between you two, I can feel it!"
"What are you talking about? Nothing happened at all!"
She laughed. "You're denying it! Something did happen!"
I blushed, giving up. "Fine. Yes, something happened!"
I told her what happened and she squealed in delight. "Lu, this is great! You and Natsu-" I cupped a hand over her mouth.
"Shut up!" I hissed. "No one knows about that besides you, me, and Natsu."
She held her hands up. She dropped the subject and looked around. Willow and Wendy were engaged in what looked like a very interesting subject. I watched her closely. I saw Levy from the corner of my eye glance from Willow, to me, then back again. "What's with you? You're watching Willow like a hawk."
I snapped out of my trance at looked back at her. "I've been thinking of Willow like, uh, like a daughter."
"So...you want a daughter?"
"No! That's not what I meant and you know it. I just think of her like that because she has no one else and I feel responsible for causing it."
She didn't question what I meant. "So...you don't want a child?"
