Julieta is one of my comfort characters. 3rd to Pepa and Antonio, of course. In a deleted scene of Encanto, everything seems perfect! Everything could benefit the story. Mirabel would've gone much further than the river. Mirabel would've found herself in Abuela's hometown. Everything turns out just like in the movie. Until Mirabel speaks. Here's what she says.
"Mirabel: I cant... go back...
Abuela: I said the same thing when I left this place... Yet here I am.
Mirabel: You were... right...
I couldn't do it. Now, my mom.. is..."
This is the part that stood out. THEY ALMOST FLIPPIN KILLED OFF JULIETA-
I know that Disney has done this kind of stuff, but WHAT THE HECK- If they had kept in the scene of Julieta healing Mirabels hand while also killing her off, I
WOULD'VE CRIED.
Also, imagine Pepa seeing her sister in that condition. Pepa already lost Bruno, making her emotionally unhealthy. Pepa would be devastated knowing she was the last of the Madrigal triplets. Bruno coming back would've made A FEW things better, but Pepa would still be emotionally unhealthy after witnessing her older triplets death.
I am aware that they didn't say she was dead, but still. It's not like Julieta would be able to heal herself, even if the candle didn't go out. It was HER gift. Nobody else's, so she would have to heal the traditional way, lessening her chance of survival.
I am thinking about animating it in Gacha Club, seeing as though I am an animator, and the idea to animate it would be original, and it would also include an animation of the deleted scene with Abuela and Mirabel.
It did give me an idea, but STILL 😭
Also, In another early draft, Mirabel had an argument with her mother, making it even worse for Mirabel.
Don't do this, Disney. ;-;
I think it's ironic that I made AUs that killed off Pepa, Mirabel, and Antonio, and now I'm crying over Julieta ;-;
All jokes aside, I'm happy with what we got for a final product, and I'm excited for this AU.
