Ron has been talking to me for a while now in the library, but I'm not completely listening because I'm distracted by someone else. Hermione Granger, who is reading a book that I can't see from here on the other side of the room. I've been glancing at her for a while now. She just looks so cute with her face in that book. Her brown eyes, her mousy brown hair, just everything about her makes her so adorable.
I glance up at her again, staring at her beautiful face, and then out of nowhere, she looks up from her book and positions her eyes to stare directly at mine. We only meet eye contact for a split second because she speedily glances her eyes back to her book.
I walk back to the common room with Ron, (Hermione wanted to stay in the library which was expected), and I tell him about the whole Hermione deal. "Hey Ron, can I tell you something?" I ask him. "Sure mate, anything." He says as we sit in our two favorite arm chairs. "Ok, so...do you find it a bit curious that I caught 'mione checking me out?" "SHE DID WHAT?!?" He exclaims. "Calm down Ronald, it was only for a split second that I saw her doing it." I explain to him. "And how exactly did you catch her?" He asks. "Well...I was kinda checking her out too." I not-so-gladly tell him. "Unbelievable!" He shouts. "You know how much I like her, why would you ever do this to me!" "Listen mate, I think you're taking this way out of proportion, it was only a split second." I try to tell him. "Maybe to you it's no big deal, but to me, this is terrible. I'm going to go to the library and settle this out with Hermione." He says. Before I can try to convince him to stay here, he's already out of the common room door, and off to Hermione.
