It's been three - make that four, if you add the gestation period - years after her matrimony to the man of her dreams.
The wait had bothered Ella. Really bugged her mind.
At times, insecurity and guilt from her past came haunting her, making her scared that she was reaping the evil she'd sown, that karma had finally caught up with her and that was why she was childless.
But with the unflinching support of Matthew, her husband, and her spiritual family, and by recalling the promise of God about her offspring, Ella was able to hold on.
Finally, the promised son arrived.
The labour was tedious, draining and excruciatingly painful.
But she travailed in hope.
She could sense the hovering of her three angelic guardian even in the labour room.
She knew how they'd clung to her in the nine months of her pregnancy like remora fishes to a shark.
Something about the child being a special breed.
When the shrill cry of her child burst forth, she knew that he would be the first and the last child she'd have.
She just knew. She hoped Matthew would be okay with that. The fate of generations would hang on her only son.
A rare gem. A treasure.
His name?
She knew at once what it would be. She and Matthew had been praying for a while about it.
He shall be called Moses. For he was drawn out of water.

Author's note: Hey guys! It's me again. Thanks to all those who read the first book, Chronicles of Flames, and for your support. Here's the start of a new journey.
And for those who haven't read the first book, COF, I'd say head over and read that first if you really want to understand the characters and some back-stories. Nevertheless, this book, COTSS, will make for a nice stand-alone.
Do you think Moses is a fine name for Ella's baby boy?
I'm so excited to write about him.I mean, Moses in the Bible was all water works. He was drawn from water, turned Nile to blood, parted the Red Sea, caused water to gush forth from a rock...
Oh, Moses Pegamon in this story is gonna be so cool too! I can feel it in my writing muscles.
I know this prologue is pretty short and crisp. I'm hoping you like it. It's meant to be a link in the gaping timeline between COF and this sequel.
Chapters will be dropped weekly by God's grace. I want to thank God for the grace to begin this story at this time.
What do you think of it, my peeps?
My request from you?
Prayers.
