Meet Again: Luck or Karma

I just wanted a good life. One full of love and tenderness. One that did not involve danger and death or losing someone.

I will explain.

7 years ago, I was living a perfect life, I had a loving fiancé named Yeonjun and I had a job in my uncle's company. All of that changed the day I found out I was pregnant and that Yeonjun was a Mafia. It was also the day I broke off the engagement, I left without him knowing where or how I was.

It was a choice I made, save my child from a brutal life or abort and prevent ay child of mine of living in terror each day. I was a coward. I ran, and never told him about our lovely and innocent son Jung-Soo. I cut ties with my only family, my Uncle and Aunt. Only my brother knew where I was. Until this fateful day.

Today is my job interview at a new company as a Secretary. I was interviewed and hired by the Choi Industry, one of the most famous investment companies in Korea. I'll work for the son of the current CEO, apparently.

Focused on my first impression, I knocked then entered the office of the CEO without looking at the two men inside. I bowed low and presented myself.

"Hello, thank you for hiring me. I am Hwang Y/N and will serve as Secretary for your son."

"Y/N?"

"Well, well, well. Look who appeared after 7 long years. You have some guts, babe!"

I froze when I heard the voice. His voice. Oh, no. I looked up: It was definitely Yeonjun I and his father the first glaring at me and the second smiling and getting up to hug me.

I hugged him back.

"Y/N! what a good surprise, long time no see. How are you?"

"Good uncle, and you?"

"Wonderful!" he exclaimed and patted my back. "Now you can spend more time with Yeonjun and patch things up!"

"She won't dare talk to me!" He said menacingly.

"Yeonjun! The tone, please!" His father reminded him. Yeonjun just rolled his eyes and stormed off, with me running behind him to catch up his pace.

"Wait for me!"

"Oh," he turned around brusquely when we arrived in front of his office. "Because you maybe waited for me?! Huh? You maybe let me explain instead of disappearing without leaving a trace? You maybe thought of how broken hearted I was when I could not find and learned from your brother that I had to stop searching for you, because you had started a new life, a new family and a new husband? YOU MAYBE THOUGHT ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU WERE MY WHOLE WORLD AND I LOVED YOU?"

"Yeonjun, I'm sorry I-" Tears streaming down my face I sobbed silently as he yelled at me.

"Shut up! I don't want your excuses, just SHUT UP!" He stormed into his office and at that exact moment, to make things worse, his mom came round the corner discussing with some people. She saw me on the ground and looked at the door with his name on it.

She shooed the officers off and ran towards me. She hugged me and whispered.

"It's okay, I understand why you went, you were scared, it's okay don't worry. He still loves you. He is just blinded by his anger, he will calm down."

"I-It's a-a-all my f-fault-t. I l-left him a-alone-ne. He w-will never f-forgive m-me."
