Chapter 5

Maya's POV

"Maya! Wake up! We're gonna be late!" Lucas yelled

I rolled over in my bed groaning. I don't want to get up.

"Maya!" Lucas whined

"What?" I asked

"We're gonna be late!" Lucas said

"I'm not getting up!" I said and pulled the blanket over my head

"Fine." Lucas said

He walked over and got on my bed. He started jumping in it. He's so annoying! I rolled quickly and he fell on top of me. He started leaning in. I cleared my throat, embarrassed, and quickly got out of my bed and ran to the bathroom.

"Maya?! Are you ok?!" Lucas asked knocking on the bathroom door

"Uh...yea I'm fine. I'll meet you and Farkle at school, ok?" I said hoping he would leave

"Yea....ok." He said

He left and I got changed and grabbed my stuff. Why'd he try to kiss me? We're best friends. Why didn't I kiss him? What's going on? I guess I was lost in thought because I ended up on the ground.

"Wow. I'm so sorry!" It was Rebel

For some weird reason I was actually really happy to see him.

"Hey it's ok, I injured you head, so we're even." I laughed

He laughed with me as we started walking towards the subway together.

"Aren't you usually at school by now?" Rebel asked

"Yea but I - uh - woke up late." I said

"Yea, well I'm glad you did." Rebel said

"Why?" I asked

"Because if you didn't, I would be gong to school without a BEAUTIFUL girl beside me." Rebel said

I blushed. He's so sweet!

We walked into school laughing and talking as we waking into Mr. Matthew's class. All eyes were on us. Lucas was right, now I'm late.

"Maya, Brandon, your late." Mr. Matthews said

I looked at Rebel and he smacked his forehead. Brandon?

"Brandon?" I smirked

"Thanks Mr. Matthews." Rebel said sarcastically

I giggled and I saw Lucas glare at Brandon and clench his fists. Farkle gasped and everyone looked at him.

"Maya just giggled." Farkle said

I could feel my face heat up. Farkle stood up and started hitting Lucas's shoulder.

"She never giggles, Lucas." Farkle said shocked

"I know." Lucas mumbled still glaring

"You've never giggled before." Farkle said pointing to me

"Farkle-" I whined

Rebel turned and smirked at me. I rolled my eyes and looked away.

"So, I made you giggle?" Rebel asked

"Shut up." I said playfully

"Oh, this is great." Rebel smirked

I hit his shoulder playfully as Mr. Matthews put his hands on his desk.

"Ok, enough flirting you two, sit down. You too Farkle, sit." Mr. Matthews said

I blushed when Mr. Matthews said we were flirting. I went and took my seat in front of Lucas.

"Why were you late?" Lucas whispered

"I bumped into Rebel on the way here." I said

"That's all?" He asked

"Yeah, we just rode the subway together." I said

That was the end of the conversation and we sat there listening to Mr. Matthews talk about whatever.
