Sunsterling smelled like death and had been closed since their first arrival that night.
Turned out, they had brought with them their new 'mother', the vampire queen that took a large portion impelling the castle's inhabitants while the triplets occupied savoring you in the bath chamber. Along with the queen, also the impelled sorcerer, Elijah, and his former army that coming in small groups in succession for several nights (to avoid the unnecessary attention due to how they consist of assorted beings).
The real undeads were among other races and creatures, had been quite swarming the castle when Andersons escorted you finally out of your bedchamber on the third night (evening) to be introduced to their 'mother'. Between the varied of beings—many you had never encountered with—that violated Sunsterling, were the 'empty shell'-inhabitants carrying on with their day-to-day routine as though nothing out of ordinary around them.
It was a great derogation...
Unluckily, nothing could be done about it. You were forbidden from any weapon, and thus could only glare in wrathful at the scenery that passed by, with your hands itched so to swing your unavailable sword at any unfamiliar being you met.
In the council chamber, you met with the vampire queen. She reminded you of your father, calm yet strong in the presence and character. Except that your father was now amongst the impelled one, no more different than others with their voidness beneath their human shell.
Queen Amanda possessed similar features as your knights: crimson eyes, pointy ears, and fangs between her teeth. And also rather long sharp nails served as claws. The triplets, as a matter of fact, possess them as well. It was just, that they cut them blunt for the sake of (laid together with) you, regularly, since their nails regrow wholly fast within a day and a night.
Queen Amanda wore a necklace—or collar around her neck more precisely—consisting of 28 pieces of moon shine-like gemstones. She and the triplets were genuinely astonished when you mentioned that you had seen the same collar in your dream, even seemingly led the vampire queen brooding about it when Andersons brought you back to your bedchamber.
Apparently, it was meant to be the first assignment, to obtain for the knights themselves the same gemstones—the moonsheen gemstone—from the deep of a mountain within the dwarven territory in the south. That particular mountain was once the property of the vampire race, and the moonsheen gemstone serves as sun protection. But it was so scarce; even in the past, it was only worn by vampires' nobles and royals.
Now, the triplets require the gemstone to smoothen one of the forward missions, to track down Markus in consonance with the hint Elijah spilled under impellere. The moonsheen will be put to use to shield themselves from the direct sunlight throughout the travel, and from the light summoner that one of Markus' companions was. Simon Vheel.
Light summoners were ones of the rarest, yet, weren't regarded as too significant. Except for their usefulness to brighten the dark environment by calling the sun spirit of minnow caste, or generate warmth from the fire spirit of minnow caste—which most subtypes of mages would be able to do so simply with a spell or solely with their own will. Well, at least, light summoners were not too significant for any being that was not a vampire.
Eons back, they were ones amongst a few sort who took a primary role in vampires' massacre. They were the essence member of each hunting party. Up to they fulfilled their purpose when the vampire race finally perished—or so they thought. Their shine faded away from the world's recognition since.
However, in this recent, unbeknownst to their like, they had regained once more their relevance, at least in the eyes of the current new vampires. And for that reason—among other reasons, certain vampires had been advised to safeguard themselves by making use of the moonsheen gemstones.
