[Draco]

I didn't see Granger get off the train but it's impossible to find anyone in that mess of people. I have yet to spot Scarface or Weaselbee. They better show up soon. Funny, in second year I was praying they didn't show up. Now I need them to. Well, at least Weasley so I can show him what I did to his best friend, but this time I won't be so rushed for time. I can do a lot in 24 hours.
I walk into the great hall and notice Blaise is no longer sitting with Theo and Pansy, they're snogging at the end of the table. I feel the urge to vomit. At least it's not me anymore.
I purposefully take a seat in the great hall so that I can observe the Gryffindor table. Conveniently the mudblood sat in perfect view of my spot.
I can't get the train encounter out of my head. Her robes are so modest. Fully buttoned to hide most of her neck, and so many layers of fabric completely obscure what's underneath. Nobody would ever know she has a slender form with- fuck, no, I hate her. She is ugly. She is a mudblood. She is beneath my attention. I shouldn't have seen that. I had no right to even look at her.
I turn to my plate and start eating. She's barely touched the food on her plate, already engrossed with her newest book. I wouldn't be surprised if she's already gotten it from the library. That's the know-it-all, teacher's pet in her. Can she do anything but study useless facts.
A hand moves in front of my face interrupting my train of thought.
"Home to Draco," someone says. I blink a few times and refocus on the Slytherin table. "What's up with you?" Blaise questions.
"For all the magic in the world, they can't come up with a better method for us to get to Hogwarts. I swear that train sucks all my energy."
"A train ride with those two sucked all my energy," Blaise says nodding annoyed toward the far end of the table where Pansey and Theo were practically hooking up already. "I tried to find you but no luck. Get this though, while I was roaming the train I found Granger sitting on the floor because she didn't get a seat. Sounds to me like Hogwarts favourite trio had a fight. What do you think happened this time."
"You're kidding. Well, I guess it's not a surprise. She's insufferable. Maybe that's why Potter and Weasley aren't here."
"Wait, really. They aren't here?" Blaise pulls a full 180° turn to survey the Gryffindor table. Way to be subtle. I make eye contact with Granger for the first time since our train incident. She quickly hides in her book, pathetic. I roll my attention back to Blaise. "Do you think they'll show up late like second year? They always make it to the feast."
"Who knows when it comes to dumb and dumber," I say. "Maybe this will help," I smirk. I shoot a harmless little hair growth hex at the mudblood, then I take a bite of food to remove some suspicion. Her whole body quickly grows with her thick, frizzy hair. She quickly casts the counter curse but not before the school gets a good laugh from the first hex of the year at her expense.

The first few days of school have been an adjustment.
I run my fingers over the spines of books. The restricted section is a weird part of the library. It's just books they don't want the first few years reading. Nothing in here's that bad. Our manor library has way more helpful things in it that you can actually find and there's no book finder in here so you have to go through all the books manually. Another deterrent of reading the 'very dangerous books'. It's a fucking book, they aren't going to kill someone with it.
