"TERRENCE HELP ME BRING THIS BED UP FOR I SLAP YOU" I yelled out trying my best to bring my headboard upstairs.
I don't know why out of all the apartments in Georgia, he chose the third floor. But to be fair I had a say in it too and it was a good price so I can't complain at all.
"OKKKKK I'M COMING" he shouted back as I heard him get closer to the stairs.
"Sorry I was taking, 'new crib' pictures in the mirror"
"Boy ain't nothing in there but the rug and a can of ravioli. It ain't much to take a picture of" I replied sarcastically. "You ready?" I asked getting a firm grip on the box.
"Mhmm" he replied as he did the same.
"1...2...3" We both lifted the heavy box in sync.
Me and Terrence have been friends for 3 years and some changed now. That may not seem like a lot but with the amount of stuff we've been through together, time can't even define. I met him online on this app that used to be popular called Yubo.
We came a long way, from trolling on lives to actually attending the same college and now moving in together. I never would've thought we would be here now.
We both ended up moving out of our home state to go to Clark Atlanta and no we didn't just go to the same college just because. We actually both got full scholarships plus I've always wanted to live in Atlanta.
Terrence has always been there for me at any time. It doesn't matter what I'm going through, he always is open and ready to listen to anything I have to say. That's the type of person everybody needs in their life. Now he may not always give the best advice but, just telling somebody how I feel is enough.
"Whew, damn bitch" Terrence said setting the box down once we finally got up to the last flight of stairs. "I was damn near lifting the box by myself,"
"Well, I mean you the one that's built like a bodybuilder. That's just how your body operates love" I wiped the sweat from my forehead before sitting on the ground of our empty apartment.
We have been saving since freshman year for our own place. After having to stay in a dorm with musty straight boys for months, I was traumatized and needed to have my own space.
"Well we finally here like...this is our own shit" He said taking a seat next to me.
"I know right? No more yelling about 2k at three in the morning, no more shitty draws everywhere and football sweat" I sighed relieved.
"Well I actually kinda liked the football sweat smell, it was good to me" He shrugged.
"See you're absolutely disgusting" I said gagging. "But what's the plan now? We don't have shit else to do. Half of our stuff comes in tomorrow or the day after."
"Wanna have sex?" He said casually
"Yeah, I'm just gonna go in my room" I said getting up and dragging the box with my bed too.
I closed the door once I got in my room still hearing Terrence's giggle at his sick comment.
There was a time when Terrence actually had caught feelings for me. It was when we first met him. I'm a very affectionate person and my number 1 love language is physical touch. So to say the least there was a lot of hugging involved but I didn't mean it in a flirtatious way or anything. Plus I've always seen Terrence as family, so it was very awkward. Luckily we got past that and now he has a whole man that he's on and off with.
I'm just happy that I'm able to finally have my own place. I have a feeling that this is the start of new beginnings.
