I turned to see my father starring out the window, Brent gave me a hug and said good night. I watched as he got into his old Ford truck with the red paint slightly chipping away. I watched him drive down the dirt drive way and disappear I lowered my head. I know I am going to be in trouble, and I know they won't believe the truth.

It's 1:00am and I was at Brent's house. Dad's going to blow and mom is going to play along.l I take a deep breath and sighed as I walked up to the now unfamiliar house.

The house was an old farm house white and black, last house on the street, and in the middle of no where. It use to feel like home as a kid but things changed a few months after we moved in. My day would work long days and come home with an attitude. And that's when it always went down hill.

It never scared me. I was use to this, to everything. The yelling was never ending so I tried to stay away. Always at Claira's or Maddisons house. Which were my two best friends that have stuck with me through out high school. But my mom caught on and dad thought visas staying at Brent's doing who knows what. But his mother wouldn't ever allow me to stay unless something was going on. Even then he slept on the couch and I raided his bed.

I started to reach for the screen door to the front of the house. The old dusty smell hit my nose. Before opening the door. I feel like stepping into a mouse trap I was told to go to my room immediately. So I could be scolded in the morning. Rah, I should've went somewhere else. Walking up the stairs as they creaked and turning the corner to my room I flung myself into bed.

Brent and I have known each other since I was 4 at least. We were great friends, he dated a girl in 8th grade to 9th and a few before that weren't so serious. But April was well a bitch to be honest. She always expected to much out of Brent. He was always torn down. Every chance he got to do something she put him down. Eventually one day she walked away.

Him and I came back to a best friend status. Sitting for hours at the local coffee shop talking about the devil and going to see movies. We were inseparable. We didn't have a sister brother relationship but a lovers relationship. As I became more comfortable hanging out and shielded girls away. He changed.
He was always at my games, locker, the coffee shop everywhere I was.

"Having fun?" his voice was like a charm. "Yes !" I yelled back. We were at a Green Day concert he had purchased tickets for a while back for us. He took me from my waist and picked me up and placed me on his shoulders. I placed my head to his ears. "How'd you do that?" I giggled. He motioned me to stay and he turned his head and kissed me.

After that we just seemed natural. Like he was there for me and I return was there for him. We weren't high on love we weren't smothering one another. We simply fit together. Who knows if it's from all the growning up we did or dealing with each others heart aches but one thing I knew I loved him. Classic fairy tale some would call it. I just called it true love.

I slowly kicked my shoes off and went to my closet to pull my pajamas out I stripped and got in the soft warm fuzzy pants and oversized shirt, and went straight to bed.
