Elena tapped her right hand's fingers on her desk. She slouched back in her chair. Her curled hair bounced between her fingers from her left hand. School had only started back up nearly a week ago. Elena was already sick of it. She looked down at her phone as she got a text. Seeing who it was from she ignored it. She continued to go through her phone silently laughing at things as she scrolled. She wasn't exactly sure what class she was in, but when did she ever. All she knew was that the teacher was going on and on and on. She looked up from her phone when she heard her name being called.

"Miss Gilbert?" her teacher asked. Elena just looked up at him with no answer coming from her mouth, just a smug look on her face. "Am I bothering you, Miss Gilbert?" he asked again getting her, almost, entire attention. Elena shook her head with a little more attitude than was respectable to a teacher. Then his eyes rested on her phone. "This is history class-" Elena's thoughts interrupted the lecture. History. That's it. She thought. "-not social hour," he said snatching the phone from her hands. "You can get this after school in the main office." He said dropping it in his desk. Elena rolled her eyes and she rested her chin in her palm for the rest of class.

Elena shoved her text book into her bag as the bell rang. As she left the classroom she bumped into someone. Just as she turned to curse them out she realized it was one of her best friends, Danielle. A smile appeared on Elena's face. "Hey Dani," Elena said putting her arm around her best friends shoulder. "What's up Mr. Tanner's ass this year?" Elena asked her as they walked down the hallway.

Dani laughed. "El, he's always been like that..." she said looking up at Elena. Elena was taller than Dani. She was taller than most girls at her school. She was 5'6" and pretty skinny. Most girls looked at her as their 'body goals.'

Elena laughed and flipped her long straight brown hair over her shoulder. "You're so right, He took my phone today I have to get it at the end of the day." she complained rolling her eyes. "I have to go to the office and pick it up at the end of the day. Luckily that's in 2 periods. I don't think I'd survive..." she said making a left to her locker. She looked at her hand because she hadn't had the time to memorize her combination. She opened it dumping her history book into her locker.

"That's ridiculous," Dani complained as well. "Oh well. We have English next together right?" she asked Elena. Elena nodded then closed her locker.

English went by pretty fast. Even though Elena didn't really pay attention. Finally it was last period and Elena had physics. She walked there alone because Dani's class was the other way and she had to go to her locker anyways.

Elena sat through physics through a class filled with people she hated. But that was most of the school. 2 Girls behind her were giggling the whole time. After being pushed to her limit she turned around to face a blonde girl turned to an African American girl. The blonde looked really peppy. "Do you mind..." Elena couldn't get the word out. "...shutting up?" she snapped. The girls just gave her a weird look and stopped talking. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and turned back around.

After class ended Elena finally got to go retrieve her phone. She met up with Dani since Elena had to drive Dani home anyway. They met and walked to the office together. While reaching the door they saw a guy from behind. He looked hot. He was waiting in the office for some reason. He didn't look like anyone Elena knew. Dani nudged Elena knowing she stopped to see him. She strutted into the office and stood next to the guy. "Hello," she said smirking. Elena was cracking up laughing in the hallway. Elena couldn't hear the guy or Dani anymore. All she saw was Dani point to Elena. The guy turned around. He was hot. Elena looked away pretending like she wasn't looking at him. After the office lady called for him he went into the back area. Elena walked in to get her phone and Dani ran to her. "ELENA MARIE GILBERT!" she said. "DANIELLE ELIZABETH PRESTON!" Elena repeated to her. "Wasn't he hot...?!" Dani asked Elena. Elena just laughed and walked into the office. She went up to the front desk. "Elena Gilbert, Mr. Tanner brought my phone here.." she said sounding miserable. The office lady took her phone out of a filing cabinet. Elena picked it up but it slipped from her hand. As she quickly went to grab it she saw someone was already there. It was the hot guy. He had almost appeared there. But she knew that wasn't possible he probably just had quick reflexes. Elena smiled. "Thanks" she said. He had a surprised look on his face when Elena met eyes with him. He didn't say anything. He just handed her her phone and quickly slipped out of the office. Dani ran into the office. "LENA!" she squealed. Elena rolled her eyes. She started to leave the office. Dani followed.

Elena and Dani arrived at Elena's house. Elena grabbed her key from her car keychain and unlocked the door. Dani followed her inside. Dani was so used to coming over she walked right into Elena's kitchen and greeted her parents. Elena laughed as she slid her bag off her shoulder and dropped it on the side of the stairs. Elena joined Dani in the kitchen with her parents. Elena hopped up onto a barstool and listened to the conversation.

"So Me and Elena were about to go in the office, right," she's already laughing even though the event wasn't really that funny. Elena rolls her eyes because she knows what's coming. She just went on her phone. "And there's this guy, and he's like - so hot..." she says talking almost like Elena's parents are her parents. "Anyway, I went in and," she nudged Elena, "talked her up to him. And then when Elena went in to get her phone, she dropped it and like magic he was there and caught it for her! They made eye contact for a good minute!" she squealed. Elena's parents laughed.

Elena rolled her eyes. "Story time is over Dani. Mom, Dad we're going to the grille to," she stopped to think. "Study for the night then we're gonna have dinner. Don't expect me home until late okay?" she said and pulled Dani in her room so they can change.

Dani went into Elena's room and plopped onto her bed. She went onto her phone. "Do we really have to study...?" she complained.

Elena went into her closet to pick out clothes then poked her head out and laughed. "You really think I'm gonna go 'study' at the grille?" she asked. She laughed again. "There's a party at this foreclosed mansion on the east side of town. That's where we are going, my mom would never let me go to this party if she knew. So you just gotta lie!" she said laughing. She pulled out a pair of leggings and her black heeled booties. She plopped them onto the floor looking for a shirt to wear. She grabbed a royal blue tank-top-like shirt and threw it with the rest along with a black leather jacket. A big smile appeared on Dani's face. Dani went and joined Elena looking for
something for herself. She picked out white jeans with black pumps and a hot pink tank top. They both changed and fixed up their makeup. Elena straightened her hair and Dani curled hers. They looked at themselves in the mirror. Elena zipped up her leather jacket to make her outfit less 'party' like. Dani threw an old hoodie over her jeans and slid the heels into her oversized purse. She slid flip flops onto her feet. Elena and Dani crept down the stairs. "Bye mom! Bye Dad! Don't expect me home early!" she said. She grabbed her keys from the table in her voyer and ran out with Dani.
