Veil Encounters
The air crackled with an electrifying tension as the trio sat in silence, each seemingly holding secrets they were reluctant to share. After what felt like an eternity, the piglin broke the silence, demanding to know their names. However, she was met with defiance and dismissive retorts from the other two.
"I'm Snip, Piglin from the Nether," she declared, extending her hand towards the cloaked figure, determined to break the ice. "Meah, once known as the Witch of the forest," the cloaked individual finally spoke, but before she could finish her introduction, Neoma interrupted brashly, "I'm Neoma, born in the depths of caves and caverns within Teia!" she boasted, clutching her ax with pride. The awkward exchange continued, and amidst their clashing personalities, they managed to exchange some pleasantries.
Suddenly, a piercing whistling sound pierced the air, causing all but one of them to cover their ears in agony. But as quickly as it came, the whistling ceased, leaving them all puzzled.
Their focus quickly shifted to an unexpected sight – a mysterious tower had materialized behind them, seemingly out of thin air. "When did that get here? And what happened to the ground?" Snip pointed out, expressing their collective confusion. As they scanned their surroundings, they were baffled to find that everything appeared entirely undisturbed, as if the earlier strange occurrences had never happened. The ground was smooth and flawless, except for a peculiar circle of mushrooms at their feet.
Neoma wondered aloud if a fairy could be responsible for these events, but Meah explained that fairies didn't possess such magical abilities. Neoma couldn't help but question Meah's expertise in magic, to which Meah revealed that she had once been called the Witch of the Forest.
However, Neoma's assumptions about witches quickly led to a comical misunderstanding.
'Ya think a fairy did this?' Snip's eyes widened in awe and trepidation. 'A fairy? They can cast spells?' Meah shook her head slowly, her gaze never leaving the mystical display surrounding them.
'No, no fairies can't cast spells like this. At least, not that I know of. You see, their magic is usually tied to their wings.' A sense of eerie wonder filled the air as Snip pressed further, 'But they can still cast spells, right?'
Meah hesitated, her voice hushed and tinged with mystery. 'Yes, they can, in theory.', 'So it's not impossible that a fairy could've done this?'
Pausing for a moment, Meah locked eyes with Snip, her expression unreadable. 'Well, no. It's not impossible. But meddling with such potent forces could lead to dire consequences, even for a fairy.'
'And...how do you know so much about magic and shit?' Neoma inquired, crossing her arms. Meah chuckled softly, trying to ease the tension in the air, "They called me the Witch of the Forest for a reason, you know," Meah cautiously revealed. "So you're a witch, huh? Like the ones who lure kids...and eat them?" Neoma's tone was filled with suspicion and apprehension.
Meah sighed and placed a hand to her forehead, trying to reassure them, "No, I'm not the witch from Hansel and Gretel. That's just a fairy tale."
"Well, how the heck would I know? I barely just met any of you," Neoma retorted, maintaining her guard.
"I understand your uncertainty, Neoma. But I need to clarify, I am not your enemy, those tales have given us witches an unfair reputation," Meah replied cautiously, trying to ease the tension between them.
Interrupting the escalating situation, Snip urged them to focus on more pressing matters and considered the possibility of Meah's knowledge being beneficial. "Let's remember we're all getting to know each other here. Meah may have some extraordinary abilities, but she's certainly not a threat to any of us."
