We made it to august moms house . I was so nervous , because I haven't met his family. It was just me and august right now , the others went to the hotel to get settled . We walked in the kitchen where his mom , and some "Asia this is travis , slim , and my mom. Yall , this my girl asia." august said introducing us. "Hi." I said hugging his mom and waving to everybody else. "Oh my goodness , you are so pretty ." His mom said smiling. "Aww thank you ." I said. "Your welcome now come help me outside with this food." She said. "Ma . What you cooking for ?" August said. "We having a barbecue ." She said as I followed her outside. I closed the door behind me. "So , how are you holding up ?" I asked. "I'm fine , I just don't want august caught up with all that mess. I already lost one and I ain't trying to lose two." She said putting the hot dogs on the grill. "Trust me he won't." I said making her laugh. Larae came out and joined us. "Mama this is my bestfriend larae. Larae this august mama." They greeted each other and hugged.
August POV
When asia and my mom went outside , I dapped up my brother travis and my cousin slim. "Maine you got you a nice looking one and she look like she don't take no bull." Slim said . "She don't maine , I be scared for my life. She told me she'll kill me if I cheat." I said making them laugh. "Maine. You better not slip up." Travis said. Just then trey and chris came walking in. They dapped each other up and sat down. "Yall all got some fine piece of women." Travis said referring to Asia and larae. "Yeaa. And they off limits Maine , so keep your eyes to yourself." I said making everybody laugh. "So what's up with you and larae bruh ?" Trey asked. "Nothing . we straight." We all knew he was lying but we just brushed it off.

Everybody seems to be getting along with each other. I been sitting here collecting my thoughts about the fact that my brother just passed. "Hey why you in here sitting by yourself ?" Asia asked as she sat down on my lap. "Just thinking." I sighed wrapping my arms around her. She grabbed my hand. "Its okay to be hurting august ." she started. "You don't always have to try to cover up your emotions. Doing that can only make it worse." She said laying her head on my chest. "I'm fine , I was just thinking about how my father use to tell me not to run these streets and not to get caught up. I didn't listen .. That was supposed to be me , not him . I was supposed to be the one whose funeral y'all were attending." I felt her frown up. "What do you mean ? Things always happen for a reason august , maybe it was just wrong place , wrong time ." I sighed. "Nobody ever has a reason to kill anyone , it just happens . what are his girls supposed to do now ?" She gripped my shirt and lifted up. "August... They will be fine. He's gonna watch over them . and you can always help with them , they love you." She said and kissed my lips. She got up to leave but I grabbed her arm. "Asia.... Thank you." She smiled. "Your welcome august." She went downstairs where everybody else was. I sat for a second and got up to go join them in the living room where they were telling all the old memories. "Hey august you remember when we all got drunk in the club and you was trying to hit people with pool sticks ?" Travis asked making everybody laugh. I chuckled as I sat next to Asia. "Yea bruh. I think I lost it that night." I said putting my arm around her . "Alright y'all ain't gotta go home but y'all gotta get up outta here." My mama said making us all laugh. "Alright mama we gone , I'm tired anyway." "Okay I'll see y'all in the morning at the funeral." She said hugging Asia then me. We All made our way out to the parking lot. "What y'all tryna do ?" Slim asked sitting on the hood of his car. "Well we can all go back to the hotel , get drunk , and go swimming." I said opening the door for Asia . "alright then , we'll follow you youngin." Travis said as everybody got in a car .

I got out the car and opened the door for Asia as I watched everyone else pull up . Travis hopped out of his car and jogged over to me. "What's y'all door number maine ?" He asked and I chuckled a little to myself. "Who said y'all was coming to my room Maine ?" I asked laughing. "You did." He replied. "No I didn't nigga & plus shawty sleepy." I said looking at a tired Asia. "Y'all can come to my room." Trey said. "Alright , goodnight youngin." Travis said dapping me up."goodnight." I replied. Asia was fast asleep , so I picked her up and carried her to our room. I put her in bed and layed next to her . I couldn't sleep so I went down to Trey's room . I had a lot on my mind so I needed to talk to travis . when I got to his room , the door swung open and I guess they were all just leaving. "What you doing here youngin ?" Travis asked. "I needed to talk to you." I replied. We made our way to Trey's patio in his hotel to talk. "So wassup ?" He said sitting down. "I don't think I've came to terms with the fact that Mel's gone Maine." I said. "I'm not gonna tell you to get over it Maine because you can't, but its okay to cry; you can't hold everything in Maine." He said. "That's exactly what Asia said Maine." I replied. "And she's right .. But speaking of her , it seems like she's changed you. You love her ?" He asked. "Think so.. I don't really know, but I think she's the one. She's really dope , inside and out." I replied. "That's good. And you know mama likes her , so that's a plus." He said causing me to smile. "Yeah Maine I know." I said. "Well , we about to head out ...goodnight youngin." He said. "Goodnight." I said getting up and going back inside. I dapped up Chris , trey and slim ; and made my way back to my room. Asia was still sound asleep, so I slid my way back in bed. She wrapped her arms around my waist and I kissed her forehead and dosed off.
