Monday is a bit of a blur. Janice piles more work on us both that we have barely any time to talk, let alone talk about what happened during dinner. I smiled at him this morning, which is something I never do, but these weird urges have been taking over me lately. About halfway through the day he left to go to Finance and talk out some numbers, so I've been sitting here at my desk as lonely as ever.

"Y/N, can you give this to Taehyung when he comes back? I need to go visit a client personally with Brenden so I can't give it to him myself. I hope he doesn't mind." Barry asks woefully.

"Barry, Taehyung's not going to have a heart attack if you don't personally hand-deliver everything. You could literally leave it on his desk, and he'd be fine with it. You're not his personal slave."

Barry looks distraught and a little angry, "Taehyung deserves the utmost respect. He shall have no less." He looks down at the papers he's holding as if he's contemplating giving them to me after all. "He talks about you all the time you know."

My fingers stop moving on the keyboard. "What?" I ask, looking up at him with a puzzled expression, "what are you talking about?"

"I'm serious." Barry lays the papers next to my immobile hand. "Most of the time he complains, but sometimes he compliments you. To be honest, I thought you two were married when I first got here."

I let out a laugh that sounds more like a squawk. "As if I would marry someone like him. I could do so much better."

"You know, when I told him I thought he was married to you, he said the exact same thing."

I crack my knuckles and prepare to type away again. "I'll give them to him, Barry, you don't need to worry. Tell Brenden I need the vitamin cover design by this Friday, they're breathing down my neck about deadlines."

"Thanks, Y/N and I'll make sure to tell Brenden."

I'm typing nonsense, trying to look like I'm doing something while my mind is elsewhere. I had no idea Taehyung even bothers to think about me beyond work. Then again, he occupies my mind most of the time too, but it's usually because I'm replaying a fight and coming up with comebacks I could have used.

"Y/N" I hear Janice call my name. I hope she doesn't ask about the book; I've barely read two pages. Cowboys just aren't my thing. "Can you come here for a minute?"

I nod and lock my computer, taking my sweet time. I need to be prepared for whatever she asks about the book. "What can I do for you, Janice?"

"Y/N, Gregory called from the tie company. He doesn't like our designs. They're too bright apparently."

"Too bright? So, what does he want?"

"A complete redesign, done by tonight. and I need you and Taehyung to both work on it. And preferably a design that's not as 'bright'."

My jaw drops, "Janice, you cannot be serious."

"I'm so sorry Y/N, they only just told me."

"So, what about the rest of the team? Why aren't they staying back to help?"

"You two were the original designers. It would take much longer if we tried to get everyone else up to speed."

"Janice." I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I need to control my anger. "I hope I'm getting compensated for this."

"Yes, absolutely. You both will definitely be paid overtime."
