Taehyung is sent away for onsite consultations this morning so it's just me and Barry in the office. Everyone else is either somewhere else in the office or at some meeting that I wasn't invited to.

"How come he didn't take you with him?" I ask Barry who looks glued to his computer screen.

"He said I should keep you company since everyone else would be gone."

My eyes widen, "he did? Did he say anything else?"

"Nothing else. Just that I was supposed to do whatever you said but other than that nothing."

"Wow, that's sweet of him." I say, turning back to my work. Taehyung being nice? Unheard of.

"Y/N, meet with me please!" Janice shouts from her office. How her voice carries through the glass panes I'll never know.

"What's up Janice?"

"How was the trip? I mean other than the lavish food you both clearly enjoyed, how was the convention?"

I curb the urge to smile, "it was great! We'll work on that PowerPoint as soon as possible."

"Wonderful! You both can present next week at the general meeting."

"Sounds good. Need anything else from me?"

"As a matter of fact, yes. At tonight's anniversary, we're surprising the CEO with a present. I'll keep it in my office and when the time is right, I'll let you know so you can bring it out. I would get it myself but I'll have to mingle with the other executives so I won't be able to. Would you be able to do that for me?"

"Yes, definitely!" I chirp, flashing her the smile I held back minutes before. Janice gives me the opportunity to leave early today so I can get ready for the party, and there really isn't much work to be done anyway. I waited for Taehyung to come back at some point but he never showed, so I assumed he'd been caught up with something on site. Hopefully, he isn't ignoring me, but it gnaws at me that he hasn't once decided to bring up anything that has occurred in that hotel room. It was something so out of the ordinary for us I thought he would have wanted to talk about it but he just put his headphones in and left me in silence the entire flight. Even when we landed, he drove me home with some bare minimum conversation. I tried to bring it up, but the minute I said hotel, he immediately switched the conversation. I know Taehyung is a pretty quiet person, but he wasn't like this when the kiss happened so this is all a bit of a surprise for me.

I sit in front of my vanity and angrily put in my earrings. If he wants to pretend it never happened, then so will I. I have better things to do than dwell on his lack of interest in anything happening between us.

At the party, there are so many people I cannot find Janice. When I finally do, I see her talking to Taehyung. I roll my eyes and get myself ready to approach them.

"Janice! When do you want me to bring it out?"

For a moment, she looks confused, but soon she realizes what I'm talking about. "Oh! Bring it now!" she laughs.

Taehyung looks at us with an eyebrow cocked up. "Anything I should be aware of?"

I ignore him and walk away towards the offices. I refuse to give him the time of day.

"Wait! Y/N!" I hear him call out, running after me. I continue to pay him no attention. Maybe he'll take the hint and leave me alone. I feel petty and childish, but my mind is in a million different places right now and I don't care how I come off.
