"Ariella! Wake up!" I heard my mom yell. I jolt up and walk to my closet pulling out a white dress, black tights, and a beige knit button-up sweater. I also slip out my favorite ankle boots. I run down the stairs and into the kitchen, grabbing a granola bar for the ride to school. I make a b-line to my backpack/purse and grab it throwing it on my shoulder. I snatch my phone off its charger and run out the door.

Garrett pulls up in his black Nissan Altima, "Get in the car, lazy." he laughs as I stumble out of my door, across my lawn and to the awaiting car. I open the door and slide in.

The school is only like 10 minutes from where Garrett and I live. As we pull up, I notice the little cliques standing in little groups, you see the school is undeniably cut into sections including

• The jocks and cheerleaders.
• The good, smart kids (that's where Garrett and I fall).
• The ones that sleep around.
And last but not least,
• The 'bad' kids (That's where the one, the only Shawn Mendes falls).

I've always avoided being associated with any of the bad kids. Especially Bad Boy Mendes.

"Let's go to first period now, Ari." Garrett mumbles before pulling me to English.

I sit in my seat on the far right in the front row. Garrett takes his seat next to his girlfriend, Maddie Grantham. She sleeps around but Garrett doesn't know that.

I sigh and look to the front as Mr. Mason tells everyone to get up because we will be sitting next to our partners for our new Final Project. He starts calling out names:

"Matthews and Smith,

Grantham and Kirby,

Graves and Davenport,

Mendes and James,

Grier and Johnson,

Espinosa and Carpenter...."

I look over at Garrett with big eyes and he gives me a sympathetic look before walking over to his partner Ann Smith.

"Are you Ariella?" I turn around slowly and see Shawn Mendes standing.

"Y-yeah, that's m-me." I stutter. He grabs my wrist, pulling me forcefully over to our assigned seats. He pulls my chair out for me. "T-thanks." I stutter again.

"Wanna come to my house to do the assignment that we dont finish in the 15 minutes of class we have left?" He asks. I just nod and he tells me to wait for him after 4th block and he will drive me.

"So the first assignment is to find an important civil rights act and write a 500+ word essay on it. It has to be typed to MLA standards." I read.

We start writing the first paragraph and the bell rings signaling that it is time to switch to 2nd period. I gather my things and start for the door.
A hand pulls me back and a familiar voice whispers in my ear "Don't forget to meet me by your locker." I shiver and Shawn smirks. I walk out swiftly thinking about what all could possible go wrong at his house. This makes the day go by quicker and before I know it I'm standing in front of my locked waiting for Shawn.

Oh God what have I done?
