I was driving on the highway. I remember taking the exit onto the expressway. I drove for about a mile or two. Then out of nowhere, a truck came into the lane next to mine and tried to merge in front of me. His trailer lashed into the front passenger seat door and I steered the car to protect myself. I hit another car trying to save myself. I was hospitalized within minutes, the doctors told me that if I had moved just a little more to the left I would've died.
"I'm impressed, 3 broken ribs and 2 fractured, and let's not forget your kidney, both of them failed and we had to filter some of the toxins that were in your body. On a side note, you shouldn't drink that much alcohol. However, we had someone who was willing to give you his kidney. You should really say thanks to your old man.
Anyways how are you feeling?"
"feeling better doc. Can I talk to my dad?"
"I'll send him in." the doctor left and dad walked in.
"feelin better?"
"yeah, hey I just wanted to say thanks for everything." I remember hating myself "I can't believe I said that the way I did, so superficial without any emotion or love. This guy gave you his kidney and there's still no emotion in your heart for him." "Anytime son, anytime. Listen if you ever need me I'll be there for you alright. "yeah."
A loud noise came from upstairs, it managed to break Rick's flashback. He ran upstairs and stood there shocked, tears began to drip from his face to the floor. His jaw dropped and all he could yell was "DAAAAAADDDDDDD"
