C H A P T E R - 4 : Shattered Quintessence
"Let me take your hand, I'll make it right,
I swear to love you all my life..
Hold on, I still need you"The night was too long to stretch an end. It was dark and darkness reigned all around, as if everything had slowed down in a reverb. The lights of the room were off, with a single lamp gleaming in the darkness and where the young girl buried her head under the dim of pillow.
She couldn't see the point of getting up as if she had nothing to look forward to. It were another fifteen minutes, and she couldn't stop her wailings. She cacooned herself similar to an infant, lying on her side while the flow of warm tears were continuously brimming down her cheeks. Moreover her hiccups won't stop due to her continuous cry.
She had geared their unnecessary fight, she had hurt the dude at extent and it didn't felt alright. It worsen her state, instead. She felt so disheartened at her own silliness. Her mind clogged up and her tummy churned bizarrely.
It felt as if all of a sudden her chest got devoid of that organ called heart which had missed it's beat. As if it broke ever so silently yet leaving a deep ache inside. Even to depict when were words enough to describe the feathery conditions of a wounded heart.
The huge window at the adjacent was still that widely open, giving the clear cut views of the pitch dark surroundings. The breeze passed randomly through the silent corners of the room, it caressed her back and tickled her sides but she was least bothered. Palming her mouth she utter a disturbed cry.
This is the end of it, of us. I messed it all and he, he will never forgive me. I distant him and the pain couldn't be more piercing.
She sniffed as fresh tears replaced the previous ones and grounded on the already wet pillow.
It did felt like fighting an inner battle to live vividly with her love when her life already decided to chose grey. Some shades are fancy, others are decent but the shade her life stirred into was neither a pleasant nor a hopeful one. It was dull and full of voids.
She was preety distressed when her consciousness guided her mind and she figure out the sudden moment at her back. The bed pressed and churned a little and then deeper, a slow crawl and there was a masculine figure halfly hovered above her. She could feel it yet couldn't process what or whom it was untill he's cologne hit her nostrils and the whole world took a pause for her.
Is it my mere hallucination?
He was so close to her, may two inches away but he's mere presence beside sent her heart jolt down in pure relief.
Is he even real ?
Her heart quired over again and again yet it felt unable to believe. Goosebumps rose all over her body with the positvity of him being there in actual.
She blinked twice to clear her vision and fought back the moist in her eyes. He was the last person she wanted to come across but tragically he was the only one she needed.
Nandini..
He chanted her name as a devotee in his heart and sharply inhale for some air. The time was depressive and thicker as he turned stabilized for fractions and innerly baffled for letting her that alone when he knew her shutting out people- especially him wasn't normal.
