*After mei got off of the tram she started to make a mad dash to her family's red panda temple*
Mei (Panting): Crud crud crud!
Mei (narrating): Okay
Mei: Excuse me!
Mei (narrating): I know what it looks like...i AM my own person but that doesn't mean doing whatever i want, like most adults i have responsibilities
Mei: *high-fives a red panda statue* hey bart *rubs the other statue's tummy* hey lisa *enters the gift shop and puts on her name tag*
Mei (Narrating): It's not all about me you know, i DO make my own moves
Then mei enters the Sun Yee hall, a room dedicated to their ancestor Sun Yee where her mother Ming is praying*
Mei (Narrating): It's just that...some of my moves...are also her's
*Ming stands up and sees mei*
Ming: Mei-mei! there you are!
Mei: Hey mom-
Ming: You're 10 minutes late! what happened? are you hurt? are you hungry?
Mei: Um- *ming shoves a dumpling into mei's mouth*
Ming: So how was school?
Mei: *swallows the dumpling* Killed it per usual check it out *pulls out her grades*
Ming: Oh that's my little scholar!
Ming: Today honor student, tomorrow UN secretary general
Ming: The ancestors would be so proud
*then ming places a plate of food in front of a painting of their ancestor Sun Yee and hands mei an incense and they light them up before going onto their knees and close their eyes to pray*
Ming: Sun Yee, revered ancestor, guardian of the red pandas
Ming: We humbly thank you for protecting us and guiding us, especially mei-mei
Mei: May we continue to serve and honor you and this community
Mei and Ming: Always...
*Ming and mei bow their heads*
*After a moment of silence mei and ming exit the temple and inhale*
Mei: You Ready?
Ming: Let's do this
*mei and ming grab some brooms and sweep the temple's floors and go outsid eto polish the panda statues at the entrance before they notices some boys doing graffiti on the walls and rush to them to shoo them away with their brooms*
Ming: SHOO-SHOO! YOU VANDALS!
Mei: YOU GOOD-FOR-NOTHING HOSERS!
Ming: I'm telling your mothers!
*A little while later*
*Ming and mei are giving a tour to some tourists*
Ming: Our family runs one of the oldest temples in Toronto and the most unique, Instead of honoring a god, we honor our ancestors!
Mei: And not just the dudes either
Ming: Our most revered ancestor; Sun Yee, was a scholar, poet, and defender of animals, She dedicated her life to the creatures of the forest, Especially the red panda
*Mei slides in wearing a red panda costume*
Mei: Ta-da!
Tourists: Ooh!
Ming: Which she loved for its fiery coat and mischievous nature
Ming: Ever since, the red panda has blessed our family with good fortune and prosperity...
Mei: And it can bless yours, too!
*then the day passes by and the tour comes to an end*
Woman: Bye-bye!
Mei: See you next time!
Ming: Thanks for coming
*then they close the doors to the temple and sigh of relief*
Ming: Give me five
*Ming and Mei high-five*
Mei: Yeah
Ming: Come on, dad's making dinner
Mei: Ooh!
