Again I am so sorry." I opened my eyes slightly to see Claire tleaning over me with her hands held out, ready to give me the the ziplock bag that was filled with ice that were probably freezing her hands off by now.

"Don't mention it, accidents happen." I said, placing the ice on my head.

After a few minutes I removed the ice and laid it on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

"Are you okay?" Claire asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I unknowingly started to twirl my hair around between my fingers. "Nothing's wrong."

"Uh huh." Claire motioned to my fingers again.

Darn it Jasmine. Get it together. I thought.

"Care to tell me what's wrong? Why you're lying and why you're not talking? I've know you for a while to know you're not a quiet person Jas," Claire said.

Should I tell her...? Or make up another lie.

I couldn't stand my thoughts anymore, feeling my face losing its color I made up my mind.

"Well the thing is, I felt like someone might have been following me around town today."

"Are you for real?" Her eyes were filled with disbelief as she started to laugh. She scanned my face and quickly realized I wasn't kidding, and just as quickly as she started laughing, she stopped.

"I'm positive." Claire's stare started to give me a strange feeling in my stomach.

"Well," she looked away from me for a brief moment to admire the fireplace in the far corner of the living room. "Did you at least have a chance to get a good look at them?"

"Actually, no, I didn't. I was going to, but at the last moment I got cold feet. That's when I ran to my car and came here when I got your text." My eyes wandered to the floor, and then the door. I couldn't get myself to look at Claire and see the disappointment in here eyes.

"Is this the first time this has happened?" I finally got myself to look up at her, she could tell that I was confused on what she meant so she tried to clarify. "I mean have you ever felt like you've been followed before?" Shes asked with a concerned look upon her face.

"I don't know Claire," I groaned, lying again. "Maybe this has happened before I just don't remember."

"Honest?" Claire raised her right eyebrow.

Ugh, she knows I'm lying.

I closed my eyes to process what was happening, my vision became blurry again.

"Do you think you could've just been scared and your imagination took over?"

"Are you being serious right now?" I said as I went to stand up off of the sofa, but I was too light-headed still to attempt to walk.

"You never know, once I lost my mom in the grocery store when I was six and I though aliens took her." Claire stated.

I looked her straight in the eyes. "Probably because you were six. I'm eighteen, I don't believe in aliens, unicorns or magic like you still do." I rolled my eyes, Claire had always been childish since the first time I met her.

I was riding with my old best friend Kailee, we had just been released from our fourth grade science class with Mrs. Lincoln.

Kailee and I were racing down Hark Avenue to our homes, about halfway there we saw a family moving in across the street from where we were. There was a little girl with long brunette hair wearing unicorn designed silk pajamas.
