"You missed."

Thunder cracked.

"Again."

The sun was hot, and my back ached as leather tore through leather and made contact with my flesh; but I got up anyway. Biting my tongue at the venom my mind had prepared in counter, I stood up to face my enemy once more.

The target was at least 400 meters away, it's bright red center glaring at me through the sun-daring for me to hit it. Blowing loose strands of hair out of my face, I grabbed another arrow from the table nearby and notched the head against the rest, and the nock against the string. Standing upright, and putting all of my concentration on the red dot in the distance, I pulled back on the arrow and string with delicate fingers until my hand was near my ear. I released.

A few moments later, I saw stars.
