Chapter One
Blair's POV

I reach into my closet and pull out my running shoes, throwing them on my feet. Reaching over to my bedside table, I grab my headphones and head for the door.

The wind hits me and goosebumps rise on my skin, so I quietly sneak back in the house, careful not to wake my parents. I grab a jacket from my closet and start on my jog.

I make it outside of our suburb and end up on the main road. My town in relatively small, so there is only one main street where all the businesses are located. I keep a steady pace and continue running. As I pass Delilah's, the local restaurant, a feeling of anxiousness hits me.

I ignore it and keep running, speeding up a little bit. But the feeling remains and I decide to cut my run a bit short. I turn on to one of the streets leading into my neighborhood. By this time, I'm sprinting. I have no doubt in my mind that someone is following me.

In a few minutes I can actually see my house, and that's when I make a fatal mistake. I look behind me. I see a boy, a little bit older than me. He has dark brown hair, tan skin, and he's definitely well built. But that's not what catches my attention. What catches my attention is his eyes. I swear they're glowing, not like in a passionate way but as in they are actually glowing like a light bulb.

I stop dead in my tracks when I see him and he does the same. As I assess every detail of him, he does the same to me. After what seems like ages, I come to my senses. This crazy man is chasing me through town and when I'm this close to safety, I stop and give him the chance to catch me.

He must notice the change in my mood, because he comes after me before I even get my chance to take off. I turn and push myself faster than I ever have before. I was literally running for my life. Unfortunately, within seconds I'm thrown to the ground. I brace myself for the fall but it never comes. The psychopath blocks my fall and I land on top of him. I try to push myself up while he focuses on getting up but he pins me to his chest.

"Please, just let me go. I won't tell anyone, I promise." I lie, if he were to let me go I would shout it from the rooftops.

"Don't lie to me, sweetheart." He teases

I can't look at him because my back is pinned to his body, but I know he's smirking. I thrash around in his hold and bring my foot back and catch him in the place where no one wants to be kicked. He cries out it pain and I take my chance to bolt. My legs glide across the street and I hear the psychopath shout out, "Grab her."

A black SUV comes out of nowhere and two men, about the same age as the original psychopath come hurling towards me. I try my best to push past them but in the end my efforts were pointless. The taller one with blond hair snatches me brings his hand to my mouth. I throw my head around, trying to avoid it. It's not just his hand coming for my mouth, but there's also a rag, most likely with chloroform on it. Finally, his hand catches me and forces the rag on my mouth. I hold my breath for as long as I possibly can until I absolutely have to breathe. I pass out seconds later.

I wake up in a bedroom. My hands are tied to the headboard so I'm restricted from getting up. I stretch my muscles as my as I can without actually moving. The room is actually super nice, and I can't help but wonder what these rich people are doing kidnapping young girls off the streets. They should be out buying expensive suits and owning nine houses.

I need an escape.

The thought hammers through my head. I need to find a way out of here, for my family, for my friends, and for myself. I look around the room, searching for something to help me get out of these ropes. There's a candle on the beside table.
