Felix sat on a soft bed with velvet colored sheets and he petted a small kitten in his lap. He stared out the balcony of his given room as the sun began to set and sighed as he continued listening to the kitten's purring. A small and gentle smile reached his lips as he raised the kitten to give it a small peck of affection on its forehead. In return, the cat pressed against his face, continuing to purr. Felix'd been given the kitten as he requested from those who took care of him. His tail slightly twitched as he thought of all the different things that led him here.
He appreciated the kindness and hospitality of the angels, but he had always wondered how and why he'd been brought "here", or well, wherever here was. He gently placed the kitten down and gave it one of its favorite plushies. He stood as he silently made his way to the balcony. Ever since he'd awoken from his sleep, his life was so different than it used to be. His hand traced the railing of the balcony. It was a pearl color, and his expression softened at the view of the small garden outside his balcony. He closed his eyes and the gentle breeze seemed to caress his face. The tail swished with pleasure before he suddenly sensed something behind him.
The presence surely wasn't his kitten, was it? Although the thought was certainly a possibility, he couldn't imagine it. He put his free hand down as he straightened his hand. Swiftly, he turned with his hand pointed, ready to charge it into the figure's neck. But as soon as he turned he stared in shock. The figure was actually shorter than him, with cat ears and a tail swishing behind them. A considerably short child with cat-like features stood before him. The child's ears pressed against her head as the child stared in sudden fear and her tail thrashed.
Felix immediately took down his hand and quickly lowered himself to see the child closer. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Was this really his cat?.. He cupped the child's face in his hands as he searched for a specific thing he knew would confirm it was his kitten. After closely inspecting the child's face, his eyes drifted to the child's neck as his eyes widened when he saw a heart shaped birthmark. Felix's bunny ears stood up as his tail slightly wagged quite similar to a puppy.
"Eliza?", he said with a bewildered tone.
The child, seemingly recognizing the sound of her name and his voice, smiled and pressed against Felix's hand. His eyes widened as his tail began to wag. He wore a big smile as he brought in the child for a hug. The child seemed to gratefully accept the hug. He lifted up the child in his arms and spun her around, he couldn't have been any happier. The child seemed to enjoy the moment just as much as he did, as she giggled in delight as she was spun around. Felix placed the child down on the bed as he crouched in front of her. "It's really you! You're... in a human like form! Not just a kitten!" exclaimed Felix.
The child seemed to understand him and nodded with extreme glee. After a while, Felix soon learned that Eliza knew many different things even though she was only 6months old. Or, however old 6months old in kitten years is for human years... He smiled with delight as he continued to play around with the kitten. He adored his new discovery that the kitten could transform into a human.
The sun had finally set after a while, and he stretched as the child mimicked him and yawned. He chuckled at the child's mimicking of him and noticed how late it now was. It was a clear night, and the moon was near full. He closed the balcony's doors and shut the curtains while leaving some moonlight to leak in. He petted the child as he then watched in surprise as she transformed back into a kitten. He smiled as he quickly changed his clothing and set in for bed.
It was now near dawn when he was awoken by a strange tapping sound. He had no idea what the sound was, but as he turned to the window he saw the flash of a figure leave his window. He felt his face pale, he hated the thought of being watched. The sight quickly made him uneasy, even if it was just a hallucination. He fully closed the curtains and tried his best to go back to sleep.
He couldn't help but question who the figure was and why it was watching him before. He hugged Eliza gently but firmly as he drifted back to sleep. As he began to drift back to sleep, he faintly heard once again the sound of tapping.
