You and your family have been planing to travel to a beach in Galveston Island for years and it's finally taking action.
Your busy packing when you hear your 2 siblings fighting over who knows what. Your nearly done packing when your parents ask you to take your dog on a walk, you let out a sigh and walk out of your room towards your family dog, Biscuit.
When your family first adopted Biscuit he ate all the biscuits your parents made for breakfast and that's where his name originated from.
You took Biscuit on a walk around the neighborhood and then headed back home, your
mind kept wandering to the beach. You knew there was more things to do in Galveston than go to the beach but that's all your mind allowed you to think about. The more you thought about it the more you couldn't wait to go to Galveston. You were so lost in thought that you almost passed the house.
As you entered your home you started thinking about all the wonderful marine life you'd see in the ocean.
You headed towards your room to finish the rest of your packing. "Finally finished" you sighed as you plopped onto your bed. After thinking about fishes and coral your mind wandered to more exotic/dangerous species in the ocean.
"Stingrays, Jellyfish, Sea-urchins" you started chanting out loud, "Pufferfish, Sharks, Bl-" you cut yourself off.
You've always dreamed about seeing a shark in real life, this would be your chance to see one with your own eyes.
You were disappointed in yourself for not thinking about sharks earlier, your blanket was a shark, your pillow, practically your whole room.
You knew it wouldn't be safe to go far into the ocean to find a shark, but you were determined and nothing was going to change your dedication to find a shark.
"Y/n! Bring your bags to the car!" Your mom called, which snapped you out of your daydream.
You grabbed your bags and brought them out to the car, you saw your siblings outside as well and decided to talk to them. "Hey, are you ready to go to Galveston?" You asked your siblings, they responded with a nod.
That was your sign to not bother them but you decided to ignore it.
You started talking about all the different types of sharks and how much you loved them. You must've been talking to them for a long time because before you knew it, it was time to leave for the airport.
You hopped inside the car along with your siblings. As time passed you finally arrived at the airport. You and your family went inside. The workers scanned the bags, your family, and you. After a long process you could finally sit down and wait for the plane.
It felt like every minute was a day. You decided to strike up a conversation with your family to pass time.
"Hey, did you guys know hammerhead sharks have 24-37 teeth?" You said in an excited tone.
"Did you know there are different species in the ocean other than sharks?" Your brother responded in a sarcastic voice.
"I'm sorry Y/n but your brother is right. Maybe it's time to explore new species? Like roosters!" Your mom backed your brother up.
Your mom always wanted you to work at a farm and was a big fan of roosters. You've made it clear you didn't want to work on a farm but your mother seems to have already mapped out your future.
"Or I can work as a scuba diver and discover different species there?" You replied trying to convince your mother, "But that's more dangerous than working on land. What if you get bit by a shark? Or stung by a stingray?" Your mom carried on with the list.
You sighed knowing there was nothing you could do to change her mind.. or maybe there was?
Your mothers ranting about roosters and farm life seemed to help pass time somehow seeing as your plane was called.
You and your family started towards the gate.
"Does anybody want to help me find a shark when we arrive?"
It was one of the worst things you've said during your entire existence.
As soon as you and your family sat down your mom and dad started lecturing you about how dangerous it was to encounter a shark. They went on for almost half the plane ride.
They seemed to finally calm down after you blew it off as a joke, even though what you asked was not even close to being a joke.
All you could do to calm yourself down was listen to music and try to fall asleep.
