"Protect the Zapfish at all costs. That means you, Octoling 1612. And don't fall asleep on the job this time!"

"Come on, Molly! There was no Inkling sightings for almost a month now!"

"1612, Boss is not going to be happy with us if we let any more Inklings make off with any more Zapfish."

Pacifica sighed. "Let's just face it. I'm never going to change my ways. Someone just has to explain that to DJ Octavio."

"You tell me. To be honest, I'm actually going to be thrilled if an Inking were to see this place." Another octoling laughed, a sarcastic tone in her voice.

But then, a "Woomy!" was heard. Pacifica gasped in shock. This was her first time dealing with an Inkling, so she was nervous.

"INCOMING!"

One thing led to another, and she was the last octoling left. The Inkling started firing, and hit her goggles, knocking them clean off. Before the Inkling could keep firing though, she panicked and shot at the Zapfish's pedestal.

The Inkling just stared, obviously very confused about what the heck he just saw.

"Uh.. what?"

Rebecca just stared back, but then got an idea. She knew it would be a bad idea, but she was pretty sure that no one would notice. But when she got back to her house, she found her things outside, as well a notice on her door.

"What the?! How?!"

"You forgot about the Octotroopers, didn't you?" An elite octoling said, her eyes burning the back of Pacifica's head. "Now are you gonna leave this place, or are we going to have a problem?"

Pacifica freaked out. So far, this was the worst day of her life. "Are you crazy?! I can't go up to the surface!"

"Unfortunately," The elite octoling put a massive pot (with a few holes) on Rebecca's head. "That's where you're headed. Word spread around."

She started to leave. "And also, keep that pot on your head. No one wants to see an octoling on the surface, lest you want to get splatted."

Pacifica just grabbed her stuff, and walked to the nearest exit, grumbling to herself about the whole thing.

So now you can probably guess her surprise at seeing the surface for the first time.

"Woah.. this place is so splatting beautiful! Okay Pacifica, just act natural."

She climbed out of the Deepsea Metro, and started to look around. This place was NOTHING like what the others said it was. But then, she was confronted by a blue Inkling with a Krak-On Splat Roller.

"Oh, sorry. Was just on my way to the next Turf War. Nice headgear, by the way. Is it new?"

Pacifica laughed nervously. For a second, she thought she was found out. "Oh this? It's just something I found."

They smiled, and ran off. "Nice! See you at the next Splatfest!"

Rebecca shook her head a bit. What just happened?

First off, why did the Inkling not splat her on sight? Second, why didn't they ask about her clothes? Other than the pot on her head, her outfit should've been a dead giveaway!

After that, a purple Inkling walked up and asked, "Hey newbie! Digging the scene?"

Rebecca didn't know what that meant, so she just decided to wing it. "I.. didn't know we were supposed to bring shovels."

The inkling blinked twice before bursting out laughing.

"Good one!" She walked off, chuckling to herself.

Pacifica went into an alley nearby, waited to make sure that no one was around, and took off the pot. Splatfest? Headgear? "Digging the scene"? She felt like a fish out of water. She then noticed two Inklings heading for the alley. One had orange hair and a Roller, the other having blue hair and a Splat Charger.

Pacifica panicked and started scrambling to get the pot back on, only for the blue hair Inkling to shoot it away.

"Oh Splat."

The orange-haired Inkling shook his head, looked Pacifica in the face, and asked, "Wait, do I know you from somewhere?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"Wait!" The blue-haired Inkling asked in surprise. "YOU'RE THE OCTOLING THAT FREED A ZAPFISH?!"

"Dude, we're in the middle of the lobby!"

"It's fine, man. No one's going to hear. This is a place pretty far off from the city."

"Yeah, but you never know when someone's eavesdropping."

Pacifica blinked twice. She had a LOT of questions about this.

The blue inkling laughed a little. "Sorry. Looks like we got off on the wrong foot. I'm FuriousFire16, but you can call me Agent 5. That's Maximus34, or Agent 6."

"Oh. I'm Pacifica Electra, otherwise known as Octoling 1612..? I don't know. I never talked to anyone besides the other Octolings before. A bit out of my own depth, if you will." She said sheepishly.

The two Inklings looked at each other for a few minutes, before turning back to Pacifica.

"Why not just go by 'Agent 16'?" Maximus spoke up.

Pacifica smiled a little. As far as she knew, things on the surface were looking up.

"Alright. Call me Agent 16."
