That night, after Carey arrives home from her double shift at the local Yum-Burger, she slumps into her computer chair, exhausted. Each Thursday she thanks her deity of choice that she can sleep in the following Friday morning.
Despite her tired eyes begging her to sleep, she logs into her chat client, determined to deduce who this mystery man is. She goes through her small suspect list, wondering if perhaps she knows them. That is, she ponders it only until she unblocks the person and instantly becomes swamped with message notifications.
She cringes at the rather numerous amount of messages to sift through. It only amounts to maybe five messages every week for three weeks since she has blocked them, but most are a tad wordy.
She notes the majority are lamentations about the wordiness of their messages and their ultimate desire of being unblocked. A couple stand out to her, though, and those are the ones where they describe how pretty she looked that day, or how happy she had seemed in class.
The exact words of one message were, "Carey, you were breathtakingly beautiful today. Your smile lit up the room during class and brightened my day, as well."
She smiles uneasily at the messages, but can't help but feel flattered. Sure, the guy was probably stalking her and he seemed to be in a very close proximity to her, but his words were of a sort she'd never heard before. She shakes her head at that thought, worried that she was going mad.
"This is it, Carey," she mutters to herself. "This is how you die. Playing into the hands of some creep who fancies me..."
Warily, she moves her fingers across her keyboard to finally learn more about her... amorous stalker.
