A Mulang Love Story

Chapter 12

The next day
[Mulan and Shang did the morning chores and afterwards, they spared with each other for an hour or two. Later on, they lay down by the bench under the mudan tree]
{With Mulang}
Shang: Love?
Mulan: Mhm?
Shang: You know I would never force you into the traditional role of a wife that we grew up with, right?
(Mulan sits up and so does Shang)
Mulan: Of course I do
(Shang held her hands)
Shang: Good, because I would never force you to be someone you're not. I always want you to be your true self because that's the woman that I fell in love with
Mulan: Aw, Shang
[Shang let go of her hands and placed them on her cheeks. They lean in and share a soft kiss, but eventually, it develops into something more. Mulan wraps her arms around his neck and Shang brings them downwards onto the soft grass. Mulan ends up laying on top of him with her palms against his chest, and Shang's hands moved to her hips. Shang turns them around with him on top of her and Mulan's hands wrap around his back pulling him closer to her. Shang pulled away and began kissing and sucking her neck making her lightly moan. Shang knew he was getting a little too excited and pulled away]
Mulan: Why'd you stop?
Shang: Your family might catch us
Mulan: They're inside, there's no way they can see us
(Mulan pulled him back down and kissed him passionately)
Shang: Hmm
[Shang returned her kiss and caressed and lightly squeezed her waist, hips, and thighs. He licked her bottom lip and their tongues met in a heat-driven dance. After a while of much-needed oxygen, they pulled away. Mulan's lips were swollen and both of them were breathless]
Mulan: Ok, I uh, um, we should get up, and change
Shang: Yeah, you're right about that, let's take a quick bath and we'll get started on our wedding plans
Mulan: That sounds perfect
(They lean in and share a loving kiss. They then go back inside the house and each one takes a bath)
<later on>
{In Mulan's bedroom}
Mulan: I guess we should start with the guest list since that's the easiest thing
Shang: Yeah, you're right, on your side, it's only your mother, father, and grandmother. Unless you have cousins
Mulan: I don't, do you have an extended family?
Shang: No, I don't, it'll just be my family's staff, it's only seven people, so right now, we have ten
Mulan: Now for our friends, Snow, Ferdinand, Cindy, Henri, Ro, Phillip, Ari, Eric, Bee-Bee, Adam, Jas, Aladdin, Pocahontas, John, Tia, Naveen, Lottie, Big Daddy, Rapunzie, Eugene, Anastasia, Dimitri, Merida, Ting-Ting, Ling, Mei, Yao, Su, Chien-Po, the Emperor, Lord Chin, his four advisors, and his three sons
(Shang writes everything)
Shang: Forty-eight people in total, that's not that bad, unless they decide to bring guests, because we need enough food for everyone
Mulan: Let's do sixty just in case, for the food, we can start with rice and pan-fried noodles
Shang: And it's tradition to serve lobster and chicken to represent our blissful union and our happiness intact for life
Mulan: Yeah, and we need to serve Beijing Roast Duck since it represents fidelity, peace, and completeness in our marriage
Shang: To drink, we can serve tea and red wine
Mulan: Perfect and for the dessert, it'll be the cake, of course. Can it be white chocolate? I love white chocolate
Shang: Of course, and the icing can be coconut
Mulan: Mmm, that sounds delicious, and I think that's all for the food and beverages
(Mulan writes it all down)
Shang: What about the decorations for the ceremony and reception?
Mulan: I want pink
Shang: I'd like blue and red
Mulan: Well, wherever it is that we have both events, the pink can come from the flower petals of the mudan trees, the red can be from the crest of the emperor, we can hang flags with our seal, and now we just need to incorporate the blue
Shang: How about if we put some blue ribbons around the pillars?
Mulan: The pillars?
Shang: Oh, sorry, with everything that happened, it slipped my mind to tell you. When I went to ask for advice from the Emperor, he offered the palace for the ceremony and reception if you happened to say yes, and he also offered to marry us, if again, you said yes
Mulan: Well that's wonderful, yeah, we can add blue ribbons around the pillars. Now we just gotta set the date
Shang: With the Mongol threat that we're dealing with, the date will have to wait
Mulan: I know, but we can at least set a time
Shang: Yeah, how about three to four for the ceremony and the reception can start at five
Mulan: Perfect but we are forgetting one last important thing
Shang: What's that?
(Mulan stood up and sat on Shang's lap surprising him. He wrapped his arm around her waist and Mulan wrapped her arms around his neck)
Mulan: Our honeymoon
Shang: That's right, how could I have missed that detail?
[Shang and Mulan leaned in and kissed passionately. He hugged her closer to him and licked her bottom lip, she opened her mouth and their tongues met in a passionate and fiery dance, and after a while, they pulled away]
Shang: Where should we go?
Mulan: I don't know, we've been to Louisiana and Germany, and you've been to France, Italy, and London, but I'd like to see the kingdom of Maldonia
Shang: Well then let's go there, I've never seen it either. I'd love to see someplace new and afterwards, we can go to France and London
Mulan: I'd love to, now we just need the roles. For me, the girls will be my bridesmaids including Ting-Ting, Mei, and Su, and my maids of honor will be Tia and Lottie
Shang: Personally, the guys, Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po will be my groomsmen, and Phillip will be my best man
Mulan: I think that's all
(She got off his lap and Shang writes everything else down)

[That night, Mongol forces invaded China and the Emperor called for Shang and Mulan. They rode to the Imperial Palace immediately]
{In the Imperial Palace}
(Chi-Fu was beside the emperor as always)
The Emperor: The Mongol armies have invaded China as you are aware and we need to defend our country against this new threat
Shang: Of course, your majesty, I already sent half of my troops to defend the people
The Emperor: Excellent, we need more recruits, I already sent a message to Lord Chin asking for soldiers and war aid, they'll be here in two days at the Wu-Shu camp in the morning but we need to gather troops as well. I need you to deliver the conscription notices throughout the provinces and get recruits. You'll have a month to train them, you as general, General Li Shang, and you, Fa Mulan, as captain
(Chi-Fu rolled his eyes and Mulan's eyes widen at the news)
Mulan: M-Me? C-Captain? I-I don't know if I'm ready, your highness
The Emperor: You are, I believe in you
Shang: And so do I, you've earned the title, no one is more deserving than you, Mulan, trust me, you're ready for this, my love
(He held her hand against his lips and kissed it making her blush. Chi-Fu rolled his eyes once again)
The Emperor: I sincerely apologize to the both of you, I know that you two want to get married and now we have this new threat among us
(Mulan and Shang look at each other and then back to the emperor)
Mulan: Thank you, your majesty, we appreciate it
Shang: We, we understand and accept our duty, our wedding can be delayed for a while
(He sighs)
Mulan: Yes, we've waited for a while now, we, we can wait a little, a little m-more
(She sighs)
The Emperor: The look on your faces is telling me otherwise
Shang: We'll be ok, we'll gather all the conscriptions and start delivering them, sir
The Emperor: Over here
[Mulang went up the stairs and gathered the conscriptions. After bowing to the emperor, Mulan receives her captain uniform then they leave on their horses with two soldiers, and they start delivering the conscriptions]
