Autumn's Promise - Epilogue

Three moons later...

Autumn purred, licking Moon on the head fondly. Moon was six moons old and already, she was boisterous and beginning to help the Dynasty. The battle with Dark had cost them many cats. Flash, Talon, Shadow and Storm had been killed. Storm had been trying to save Sky when Dark had brutally murdered him, and as a result, Sky had not survived either.

Dark's healer, Water That Trickles Off Cliff, had stayed behind. She had told Autumn that she had disagreed with the idea of attacking the Dynasty and had left Dark.

Autumn had trusted her and renamed her to Silver Light. Wild Wind and Silver Light had fallen immediately for each other and Silver Light had given birth to three beautiful kittens. She and Wild Wind had named the first kit, who was born at dawn, Spark of Dawn, after Autumn and Wild Wind's mother, the second kit, which had been born at sunset, Ember of Sunset, after Ember, and the third kit had been named Midnight Eclipse, after Eclipse. Midnight Eclipse had been born at midnight.

I can never forgive myself for killing Violet, and perhaps Pounce, but I can learn. Even leaders make mistakes.

That night, Autumn had a dream.

Autumn strolled towards the exit of the ravine, prepared to clamber out. Suddenly, a black she-cat with silver markings and light blue eyes tumbled in, followed by five other cats. One of them was a ginger she-cat with amber eyes.

It couldn't be, but this cat matched Eclipse's descriptions of Dawnmist.

"Are you Dawnmist?" the words were blurted from Autumn's mouth.

The ginger she-cat blinked in surprise. "Yes, I am."

"Why are you here?" Autumn demanded. "Aren't you from a different group of cats?"

"I'm from the Clans," the black she-cat mewed in a soft voice. "Raven-someone told me that I should tell you that I killed Dark."

A pause.

"You killed Dark?" Autumn froze.

"Why? Was he important to you? Because he seemed like an evil cat to me," a silver and tan calico she-cat with green eyes mewed.

"No. He's my life-long enemy. I'm glad he's dead." Autumn forced a purr.

Why aren't I happy?

Autumn leapt out of her nest, extremely worried. Was that dream true? Her dream about the fire had come true...

Autumn shook the thoughts out of her head and concentrated on the positives.

I have a happy family. I lost loved ones, but I have gotten over it.

I am happy and that is all that matters.

A/N HIIIII EVERYONE!

This has been the longest story i've written (even though it's three but we don't talk about that), and I wanted to thank you all for supporting this by reading those chapters and voting. I see all your comments and votes; if i don't reply or anything it doesn't mean i haven't seen it. This book has been amazing for me and I'm very proud of it.

If you've read this from the start to end, I wanted to give you a big thanks. It's been extremely hard to write at some times with blocks and mind blanks, but it's been finished with your help. When I started to write this, I didn't think i'd finish it, but here I am, writing this A/N, with all 37? 38? chapters published and finished. So - thank you all!
