Every night before bed, Klara asks Loki to tell her a story. Tonight, he chose one he wrote just for her, about their love."Did you know the Sun and the Moon were once Gods and they shared the skies together? The God of the Sun and the Goddess of the Moon, were destined lovers.
So different, yet exactly the same. Their love was so great that it was hated and made all the other Gods jealous. The Gods gathered together and cursed them both to spend the rest of eternity apart from one another. That is why the sun and the moon are never together. When one rises to be seen, the other must be hidden. They may only catch a glimpse of their beloved as they rise and fall each day. The Moon's tears filled the oceans and rivers.
The Sun, seeing his lover's tears fill the Earth, gifted her skies with stars. Balls of light to shine along with, so she was never alone. The Sun's rage warmed the land and heated the volcanoes.
For eons that was all there was, till one day the Moon goddess had an idea. She created a woman in her image and placed her on Earth for the Sun to see. So that he may see her once again. That morning, the Sun saw the human form of his lover on Earth and rejoiced. He created a man in his likeness, to join the woman on Earth. That night the Moon wept in joy at seeing herself and her love reunited, in some form once again. The Gods, having felt sorry for cursing the Sun and the Moon yet unable to break it, blessed the souls they created on Earth, to be reincarnated over and over so that their love could live on forever. So every generation of man, the lovers are reborn and fated to find each other in every life to live and love. It's not always easy, as is the way of life for humans, but they find each other just the same. They have trials and tribulations they must face, but they do, together. The man is always strong and full of heat like the sun, and she is soft, bright, and calming just like the moon. You are my moon, princess, bright and soft. Only you can calm me and my fire, as I am your sun. We are destined, in every life, in every form of time. We will always find each other, this trip around you saved me from my own self. I will always find you, my moon. For you shine the way through the never ending darkness. As I will always promise to light your way, and have two arms to hold you to keep you warm with my fire, when the world is cold and cruel. Our love reaches beyond time and reason, as it always will be."Loki leans down as he kisses Klaras forehead as her eyes glittered with tears of happiness.
"Love hath made thee a tame snake" she quoted softly to him.
"Always, my moon. Always" he laughs as he pulls her close as they fall asleep in each other's arms.
High in the sky, the Moon sighs, her heart content yet sad as she watches....
