Entering the house, Prisha announced cheerfully, "Mum… mumma!! See, I came back."Her father who was sitting on the sofa sighted her and kept the newspaper back on the table which he was skimming through a moment ago and reacted enthusiastically, "Prisha beta! how are you?"
"Dad! I'm fantastic. And you?" Prisha gladly answered back to him as soon as her gaze dropped on her father.
"I'm good too…" He retorted her.
"How are you at home this time?" She interrogated him as she had no idea that he'll be at home at this time.
Her father replied sarcastically, "Aye stupid, today is Saturday means off." She had been like this since her childhood, so careless about days and dates.
"Oh! Sorry. I forgot." She bit her tongue as she realised what the day is.
"It's okay." Her father rolled his eyes.
"Prisha! When did you come?" Hearing the father-daughter duo chatter, Prisha's mother made her way to the living room by using the staircase.
Prisha looked at her mother and gleamed broadly, "Just a few moments ago."
Her mother embraced her tightly and after getting separated she commented, "You are looking so feeble. Don't you eat on time?"
Prisha huffed at her, knowing this is gonna come her way as soon she'll arrive in her home, "What are you saying, mom? I'm not feeble at all. And for your kind information, I eat adequately at the proper time."
In the meantime, her mother's gaze fell on the not-so-deep scrapes on her forehead and hands, "Prisha! How're these scars?!"
Prisha's gaze pursued her mother's, she softened the crease lines of her forehead and uttered, "Mum, these are nothing. They will heal soon."
"How did they occur?" She inquired coldly.
Prisha nervously spoke, "Actually I met with an accident. So that's why…"
This alarmed her parents as they both expressed their disbelief and astonishment in unison, "Accident?!"
"You got in an accident and didn't feel the necessity to tell us." Her mother yelled at her.
"I'm alright now mom and dad. Don't worry." She tried to calm them down.
"You are so reckless." Her mother remarked.
Her father glimpsed at the main entrance and saw a handsome man lingering there that seemed to be watching their family's cute banter with a smiling and satisfied look on his face, "Aree Prisha! You didn't introduce us to this young lad."
Prisha's ears caught her father's voice and she peeked at Ryan. She slapped her head lightly, she was creating so many blunders since the morning. What is happening to her? God knows! Pushing aside these thoughts in her mind she welcomed and introduced Ryan to her family, "Oh, yes. Mom and dad, he's Ryan."
"Namaste uncle, namaste aunty!" Ryan greeted her parents elatedly.
"Namaste beta!" Prisha's parents welcomed him with a great smiling face. It's been so long since their daughter had brought her pal into the house.
Prisha abruptly prompts the trio, "Mom-dad, please sit. We want to talk to you."
"Yeah sure, but let me serve you something." Her mother notified her.
Prisha sighed and said, "Okay, let me help you."
They both moved to the kitchen.
Prisha's father offered Ryan to get seated, "You come, Ryan beta, and sit."
