In Missouri, it's quite, well.. frankly boring. In the middle of the Mid-west, you are accustomed to your typical flat, tornado filled states that make up a mass majority of the United States, however in a specific part of the state, lies a town that is known for their calm, nothing exciting, out of the way people and businesses. By 2022, there hadn't been a single fire, tornado, flood or any Naturally occurring disaster at all in the town lines, despite every town and land around the town is usually experiencing something. Local Police and Fire Department are to a minimal, there's enough to function in case of any small chances of something happening but it is incredibly unlikely. This town hadn't seen crime, hadn't seen any reason for any one to be upset. Everyone knows each other, usually since childhood. This town is home to Tom, Robert and Chris, three local firefighters for the town. The Fire station has about 10 firefighters employed, but due to the fact that nothing happens in this town, only three stay at the station full time. These three were always trouble makers in School. Elementary School, Middle School, High School and College, was never taken seriously from these men. Never took their lives seriously, and when most of their classmates and friends moved on from the town, got out and did something, these men stayed behind. They never grew out of their Childhood irresponsibility, and College Fraternities certainly didn't help them mature, in fact, they never grew out of their frat. The Chief of the Firestation never comes around the station, ever. In fact, the dude doesn't even live in Missouri, he lives in Miami. He comes around occasionally, usually once or twice a year, and it's always an announced visit. The other 7 firefighters also do not come in ever. They take their paychecks that get mailed to them. Same salary for as if they were working full time, since this town still has a steady cash flow to support local businesses and support local first responders, but without ever having to do anything about it. Cash often built up back before the town crashed, so with a lot of that money also unspent, and never needing to spend it besides salaries, maintence and building utilities, means they don't have to work.

So you might be wondering, why do these men live at the station if nothing happens? well, reader, you will have to find out in the next part.
