Bits and Pieces

We lost Hokori (ch. 3)

Iro ran up the long stairway.
He reached the beautiful terrace with the jacuzzi, where he found Kenkyo and Mizu having a relaxing bath.

He said in a panic, "Guys...H-hokori.....he *panting* he...got bit.....*panting*, while still catching his breath.

They figured something was wrong immediately.
They put on their clothes and ran into their room.

As the door opened, they found Sonkei and Megami in tears, trying to close the wounds on Hokori's body.

The door banged open once again, this time they were greeted by Kashi, Ara, Osamu and followed by Iro.

None of them could bear the horrific scene in front of their eyes. Their own friend, was bit by one of those nightmarish creatures. They regretted not being able to protect him....

Just as teardrops rolled down from each one of their cheeks, no one willing to say anything, Kenkyo spoke up with his watery eyes.
"I t-think.....H-he'll b-b-become like on-one of t-them", he stopped stuttering like crazy and got himself together and wiped his tears.

Hokori nodded in agreement.

He added," I only see one way out of this situation.....To murder him."
He tried to stay as strong as possible, but tears still fell down from his eyes.

Hokori said, in a rather depressing tone, "Yes....That would be the only way of keeping you all safe. The longer I'm alive bitten, the more i will evolve to my surroundings, the more my bloodlust and hunger increases."

Everyone tried to keep themselves together.

Hokori tried to stand up and jump off the ledge, when Mizu caught him.

"Thankyou very much for staying with us."
"This is goodbye....."

"Goodbyes aren't forever, Mizu. I'll wait till the day we see each other again...."
Hokori said, with a teary smile.

Memories flashed in Mizu's eyes.
When they added paint in the water tank.
When they climed that Banyan tree and could see the entire city of Tokyo.
When all of them played in the rain.
When they were made rivals for the Chess competition.
When Kashi and Megami were furious at them for wearing their skirts.
When Mizu, Osamu, Iro and Hokori cheated on the test.

All of it.....All of it.... flashed before Mizu's eyes.....

*Crack* *Crack* *Crack*
Blood flowed down his eyes, his veins more visible than usual, his skin turned pale.....

Hokori has turned......He's one of them now.....
He tried to bite Mizu's hand, but they let go.

All of them saw as Hokori was falling down.....
He was down there now....
No movement......Presumably dead....

"No one felt as sorry as i did when he turned......" thought Mizu, wiping their tears.

As they mourned in the name of Hokori, Sonkei spoke up with teary eyes, "We can't lose any more of us now....Our top priority at this point should be to escape this island, because the other zombies might've found the way out of that forest!"

They agreed and Ara took out her planner to create an escape plan.

Well, little did they know.....Sonkei's prediction would become true.....
