I walk out of the store I was walking around in before. On my way out I'm stopped by a man. He's about 6'2 and looks like the type of guy who has plenty of money but doesn't show it. I just look up at him, brushing my silver-blonde hair behind my ear.

"What are you doing?"I ask, trying not to sound scared.

"I've been looking everywhere for you."

"We don't know each other. So where have you been looking and why?"

"All over New York City. I know you don't remember since we were drunk of our asses when we met, but, I have to talk to you."

"Well you have my attention. So talk."

"My name's James. You know my best friend Killian. Not personally per say but at the very least you know his name. He's been trying to get your attention because he has an offer for you. One he said he's mentioned before. You hadn't answered the proposal when he'd asked. I know this is no doubt creepy having some guy you've never met seek you out and send someone to find you."

"It is definitely unnerving. He never explained what he wanted exactly. So if he wants to talk he can do it himself."

"Can you come with me?"

"I don't know you. So how do I know I can trust you?"

"You haven't run off yet. If you weren't at the very least intrigued you would've left by now."

"Fine. Where does this Killian live exactly?"

"A few blocks down. It'll only take about five minutes to get there."

"Alright."

He lets go of me and I let him lead me to Killian's place. When we get there he takes me to an office. James knocks on the door and Killian turns around.

"Oh finally. It's been fucking weeks."He says.

"I did as you asked."James replies.

"I know. Let me talk to her alone."

"Alright. Don't do anything stupid."

"No promises."

I step inside the office. James shuts the door behind me and leaves. I just stand there keeping eye contact with Killian.

"Have a seat. I'm not gonna hurt you."He says.

"I don't think you will. I just can't confirm that."

"Sweetheart, you're safe here. I promise. Just please trust me and let me talk to you. That's all I ask. One conversation then we never have to speak again if that's what you want."

"Alright. This had better be worth it."

"It will be."

I go sit down in the chair on the opposite side of his desk. He rests his ankle on his knee and leans back in his chair. I cross my ankles.

"About the offer I made you. The one where I told you I can give you a life here if you want it. You'll be treated like a queen and loved like you've been a part of the household your whole life." He says "Do you want it?"

"Who wouldn't? Look. The reason I didn't answer before is because the way you phrased it made it sound like I was to marry you. Which obviously isn't an issue. But I can't help but think this is something to do with that."

"It's something to do with that yes. But I said "marry" because that's what I want. It isn't required if you take the offer. Your reputation precedes you and I can't help but want to find out just how far that goes. From what I've heard you're just my type."

"Alright Pretty Boy. Say I do take the offer. Including let you try and get me to fall in love with you. What happens then?"

"Then I'll keep my word. You'll be treated as my queen. The household will regard you as such. You'll never have to work a day in your life and anything you ask of me will be done. You'll be allowed to leave whenever you want. If there comes a time where you don't want to keep the deal then all you have to do is say so and you're free to go."

"Okay. I'll play then. How many other women have you extended this offer to?"

"Just you. You're perfect for me so I don't see a reason to have other suitors."

I just chuckle softly.

"If I didn't have context you would sound insane."I say.

"Comes with the risk of asking a question like that."

"Sure."

He smirks and gets out of his chair. I keep my eyes on him. He comes over to me and holds his hand out to me. I raise an eyebrow.

"Just come with me. Please?"He says.

"Okay."

I take his hand and he helps me up. He leads me out to a balcony that overlooks the city. I look up at him. He smiles and winks at me.

"Do you really think I'm perfect for you though?"I ask.

"Yeah. Even if we don't know each other."

"And if I'm not?"

"Then I'd still have fallen for you either way."

I just nod and walk away. He watches me.

"Can I know where you're going?"He asks.

"I just need to go somewhere where I don't have to pretend for a bit. I'll be back."

He nods and walks over to me. I look up at him. He crouches down so I have to look down at him. I look down at him. He takes my hand in his and kisses my knuckles.

"Can you let me go with you? I really want to know you. It only makes sense given you're the woman I fell in love with."He asks.

"Only because I want to see what you do with said love."

"I wish I could tell you. I didn't think I'd fall in love. But I saw you once and here we are."

"Then that makes us even."

He smiles and stands up. He interlaces our fingers and we walk to my apartment. When we get there I go over and sit on my couch. He takes his shoes off at the door then comes over and sits next to me. I look up at him.

"Why do you want me so badly?"I ask speaking quietly.

"Because for some reason you didn't have to do anything yet you stole my heart. It scares me a little but I figure there should be a reason for it."

"What reason would there be? Whether we can talk like we've known each other our whole lives or not we don't know each other. Hell I don't even know if I'm really in love with you or the whole daze of a hot guy with money asking me out is just getting to me."

"Maybe something out there thinks we need each other."

"If that's the case the it'd better show itself. I want to see if I'm really meant to be in love with you or if this is a waste of time."

"Then why don't you kiss me? Let's test this."

I chuckle softly.

"I'm serious, gorgeous."He says.

"Oh I know you are. I just find it funny that you're so forward about it."

"Can't help it."

"And if this isn't a waste of time?"

"Then you'll be mine."

"You'll have to show me you're fit to own me then."

"Trust me I can handle that."

"Then shut up and show me."

He smirks and rests one hand on the side of my face. I rest one hand on the back of his neck and he kisses me.
