Rishi was furiously walking in his room. He still can't believe the audacity of this girl. Firstly, she got his family and Malishka's name in the mucks..and then she was defending her actions. He gave her an earful, even asked her to get out of his house, yet she didn't budge. In his anger, he declared that he was going to get engaged to Malishka, and although he did see hurt reflected in her eyes for a few moments, she didn't react to his decision.

Today, in his room, on his dressing table, he found the ring he had given her during her engagement. He threw the ring in anger. Where does she get this attitude from? What does this girl want?
She didn't say a word against Rishi's decision, but then she never left him alone. Does she have no self respect? Maybe all she wants is money, and she really doesn't care if he is with someone else. He doesn't know why but this thought pained him and bothered him, more than he cared to admit.

Lakshmi was hurting inside badly, but she made sure that her feelings are not visible to anyone, not even her sisters. She would go to the washroom, open the tap and cry, but once she came out of the bathroom, no one could make it that she was crying. She made sure that she remained away from the preparations, as all she got was taunts when she tried to help. So now, she either remained in the library, reading something or in the kitchen, preparing elaborate meals. She did keep in touch with Panditjee, to check about Rishi's markesh dosh.

It was the night before the D-day. Malishka was super happy and kept calling Rishi after every few hours. Rishi wanted to be happy, he was getting engaged to the love of his life, but all he could think of was Lakshmi. He wanted to shake her to get some reaction out of her, but she had turned so cold to him, that it angered him even more.

Rishi came back to his room, all frustrated, to find Lakshmi's sarees lying on the bed.

Lakshmi, he shouted at the top of his lungs. Lakshmi came out hurriedly from the washroom, and shouted back at him
"What? Why are you screaming"
Rishi: Why have you turned my bed into some cheap market place?? Why are so many sarees on the bed
Lakshmi: Arre, I was just trying to select a saree for your engagement. Mummy jee is throwing such a huge party, so many people are coming, I would need to dress up well, won't I?
Rishi, pulling Lakshmi close to him
You will really come for the engagement? You will be fine seeing me get engaged with Malishka?
Lakshmi struggling to get out of his hold: How does it matter if I will be fine or not? The truth is that you both love each other and are now getting engaged. I am happy for you!
Rishi, pulling Lakshmi even closer: Really, you are happy for me? You are happy seeing me and Malishka together?
Lakshmi, trying to create some distance: Yes, I am happy for you both. mai to galti se beech me aa gaye the warna this was supposed to happen earlier. You both deserve each other.
Rishi now was even more angry. He raises her chin with his fingers
"Mere ankhon me dekh ke bolo..ki you are happy'
Tears starts clouding in Lakshmi's eyes, but she steels herself. She will not let him enjoy her pain. She looks straight in his eyes and says "Han mai Khush hu. Aur ye to hona hi tha..humare shadi ke buniyad ke jhoot the, to ye rishta to tutna hi tha. Acha hai..ab tum Malishka ke sath aage badhoge, to sayad Mai bhi apne life me aage badhunge..and yahi kosish karunge ke humare raste phir kabhi na takraye! Waise bhi, tum kabhi mere the hi nahi, to tumhe khone ka kaise gam. Khush raho tum Malishka ke sath!

Saying so, she pushed his fingers away from her chin, and moved away.

Rishi didn't know what to say. Despite her words, he could see the pain in her eyes, and he doesn't know why , he wanted her to stop him.

Lakshmi picked up the sarees and put it back in the cupboard. Then she went out of the room, leaving an agitated and confused Rishi behind.

The next day, there was mayhem in the house. His family was so happy and excited after such a long time. He wanted to be happy with them, but his eyes was searching for Lakshmi. She was no where to be seen. He had searched the entire house, and almost given up, when he saw her come inside with Pooja ke thali. She had gone to temple. She didn't say a word to anyone, just put the thali in Pooja room and returned back to her room. Neelam had given her strict warning to not be visible in the house today.
