The race and the Wolves

A huge race was about to start and Amalthea was definitely not going to miss it. The crowd was huge but Amalthea secured a good spot by climbing into a tree right behind the crowd gathering. Some animals looked up at her curiously but paid no mind to her as they wanted to see the more important thing happening. The speedor race! Pretty much all of Chima was there, well, maybe not all of Chima. Although, there were definitely a lot of animals there to see the race. The crowd grew even more excited as racers started to show up and ride to the starting line. Laval looked into the crowd and waved at Eris before looking up at Amalthea. His mouth opened with surprise before he smiled and waved at her as well.

Amalthea laughed and waved at him, "haha! good luck Laval! show those guys who's boss!" she yelled out from her tree and a couple of wolves looked over at her with confused faces. They definitely didn't expect a random wolf they've never seen to be hanging out in a tree above them. Laval stopped waving and suddenly had a serious expression on his face. She was curious as to why and realized Lagravis was talking. 'oops' she thought and started to listen to the old lion's speech. He stood next to the large golden Chi and did his best to speak loudly for the crowd, "and the golden Chi will go to the victor. As always has been." he raised a hand and the crowd got quiet, "Racers!" his voice boomed out and the racers all got serious and leaned forward on their speedors a bit, "on your mark, get set" he kept his hand up for a moment of agitatingly long pause and then smirked as he threw down his hand, "GO!"

The racers immediately zoomed forward on their speedors and were soon small to the eyes but visible as they raced each other. A cloud of dirt was left by them and a hawk with a mic quickly flew after the racers, "the monthly race is off to a booming start! Skinnet has taken the lead and- Oh! he is overtaken by Laval, but Worriz is creeping up on him!" the hawk announcer flew pretty quickly which Amalthea noted to herself, 'he's pretty fast, are all Hawks that fast?' she thought to herself and quickly realized she was losing her focus, "Oh! shoot! I gotta pay attention!" she said to herself and squinted to see the race better, "Wowza! there goes Bladvic straight asleep again, and oh! the racers in the back just got all tripped up by the bear! Worriz and Laval are in the lead! but what's this? are they slowing down to talk? This is no place for a chat!" the announcer said and the crowd began to chatter a bit, "I bet Worriz got curious about the wolf. Who is she anyway?" a wolf below her talked to another and Amalthea sighed, "oh man, I guess I'm a bigger topic than I thought" she whined and a few wolves below her heard it and began to talk more. A few lions even started talking to the wolves, "not sure who she is, but Lagravis seemed pretty hush about it" the talking annoyed Amalthea a bit and she growled. 

The race was nearly to it's finish as both Worriz and Laval sped up towards the end and stopped talking to each other. They raced froward and Laval managed to overtake him, "and Laval overtakes Worriz! The wolf looked pretty steamed about that. The finish line is coming up, aaand......" he pauses as Laval crosses the finish line first and the crowd goes wild with the lions cheering and other tribes being respectful or mad about it, "Laval crosses first! The winner of the race is Laval! The golden chi goes to the lions once more! What a great race! Hopefully next month will have a race just as amazing!" the announcer talked as the racers came back from the track, some with a few bumps and bruises. Laval rode back with a large smile on his face, "yeah! I did it!" he stopped his speedor and got congratulated by the crowd before running to Amalthea's tree with Eris right behind him, "Amalthea! Come out of the tree already, I won!" he yelled up at her and the she wolf laughed before jumping out of her tree and running up to the two excitedly," That was amazing Laval! You were so good at there" she patted him on the back on he laughed, "just good? I like to think I'm amazing" he smirked and Eris rolled her eyes, "Laval don't be so conceited" she huffed and Laval rubbed the back of his head nervously, "ah, sorry" she glared at him and the lion shrugged under the hawk's gaze. Amalthea smiled and then hummed, "what were you two talking about? The crowd seems to think it was about me" she said and Laval nodded, "yeah he asked about you, I just told him you showed up not that long ago and you were from a far away place. I didn't tell him about those powers though, don't need to worry about me doing that. My lips are sealed" he said and a gruff voice sounded from behind him, "that may be so, but you should really be more concerned about the people behind you before you speak" 

"Ah! dad! don't sneak up on me like that!" Laval jumped away from his father. Lagravis sighed but put a smile on his face, "congratulations son. now, you have studying to do later on, so i suggest you go get ready" he said and Laval groaned and Amalthea and Eris began to laugh at his predicament. The lion raised a brow at Amalthea, "who said it was just him? since you're under my care right now, you're going to study with him as well, and I want to look at those powers of yours a bit closer as well" he put his hand to his chin in thought as Amalthea groaned and Eris giggled, "well, once you two are finished studying, we should hang out sometime. Amalthea hasn't met the others after all" Eris said and Laval smiled and nodded, "yeah, we should totally do that. Last one to the- hey no fair!" he yelled out after Amalthea who was already halfway to the castle. She laughed as she beat him at his own game, "I knew you would say that!" she yelled back and ran up into the castle with Laval behind her.
